In summary

The Oaks Golf Course is appreciated for its friendly staff, challenging layout, and recent improvements under new ownership, including clubhouse renovations and new carts. However, some visitors have expressed concerns about the course's condition, citing issues with fairways, tee boxes, and greens, as well as high pricing relative to the course quality. While many find the course enjoyable, the pace of play, especially during league times, and the raised rates have been points of contention for some players.

I’ve been a member of this course for 2 years. Been coming out here consistently once or twice a week for 3 years at least. This year I was not impressed with conditions, especially because prices were raised. I love it here but I feel, the course just has poor upkeep. Dead spot all over the fringe of the greens. Dead grass and dirt in the middle of fairways. Not good. Also, something needs to change with their leagues. They let their leagues run rampant and take over the course. League members come early for practice which is understandable. But there rate of play is down right awful. Known t…

Update: Course is in better shape. Not great, but playable. Greens look good. My only complaint are the rates. $27 to walk is pretty high compared to other courses in the area and the membership makes no sense for walkers with the cart requirements. Original Review: Course is a mess. I've probably played 30-40 times out here over the last few years, but have put off playing this year due to the rate increase. Decided to give it a shot since the new ownership has been pushing their improvements. Almost every hole has giant dead patches, dirt/crabgrass surrounding the greens. I know the weather…

Another fun Springfield area golf course- 18 holes of mature trees to avoid!!! Side note- their golf carts are A+, with coolers and cup holders to spare!!! This place was the shiznite in the '70's, from the looks of it, and still plays like the shiznite now!!!

Wow!! What a difference!! I played this course 2years ago, and honestly it was in terrible shape. I try not to be too critical but the clubhouse was the worst I had ever seen. Fast forward to two weeks ago and I couldn’t believe it was the same place. The course had been greatly improved and the clubhouse was beautiful! Can’t wait to play it again next year!

I play a lot of golf. Stopped here because I like playing different courses and I was in Springfield. The reviews were 4.4 - the rail was rated 4.7 ( I've played the rail, this is not an accurate rating. the Oaks is far lower than .3 worse). Greens needed mowed, tees needed a lot of attention( pic of one of the tees attached), overall the course was in rough shape. The pictures on the website are likely very old. I paid more to golf here than I would have paid for a better par 72 in Decatur. After 9 I was so disappointed I went in and asked if I could get a refund for 9 instead of 18 since I w…

Nice challenging course for amateurs, mostly straight besides 2 holes. Lots of trees to keep it interesting. Great service, and friendly atmosphere. A few tough greens, beautiful fairways for price. Great membership deal.

Great course just outside of Springfield. I’ve been playing here multiple times a month now for the last year and a half. This course has a little bit of everything, and the back nine is fantastic. The Golf Pro Will is on top of everything here and I only see this course improving year after year. Get the membership and you won’t regret it!

$72 dollars for 9 holes and riding 2. Extremely high for a course that is pretty boring and not in good conditon. The golf carts are gas powered and are loud, smelly and unrelialble. Course is ok at most, carts suck, and prices are just way to high for a course thats ok at best.

Played 18 here for the first time in a few years. Course and clubhouse in MUCH better shape than the last time I played. Course could still use a good amount of work. Handful of fairways and tee boxes are in rough shape but the greens are well kept and challenging. Overall, great facility and staff but price of golf does not reflect quality of course.

Had a family golf outing at the Oaks Golf Course and had such a great experience. What a wonderful, beautiful course. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. Highly recommend playing the Oaks, you will not be disappointed!!

My favorite course to play in Springfield. What this place was a few years ago to now is night and day. If you want a great course to play on anytime of the week this is my go to. The people in the pro shop are friendly, helpful, and aren't shy to go out of their way to make people satisfied.

The new ownership is really turning things around. The clubhouse renovations are looking great! The course is going to take time, understandably, but is looking great for so early in the season. Excited to see this course become a nice place to play. The only complaint some may have is the raised rates, but in my opinion you have to pay more to have a nicer course.
