What People Say

In summary

Hidden Hills Country Club is appreciated for its challenging layout and significant elevation changes, with some visitors noting improvements in course conditions and praising the helpfulness of the staff. However, many reviews express dissatisfaction with the current state of the greens, fairways, and tee boxes, describing them as poorly maintained and not reflective of the course's potential. While some visitors feel the course is overpriced given its condition, others acknowledge the efforts being made to enhance the playing experience.

I enjoyed my round here. If you want to play a course that actually lets you hit your driver multiple times and has long par 4s, this is a great course for you. Its tough and does need water / rain but we are in a major drought. The clubhouse has a full pro shop and a grill for snacks. Will be back.

One of my favorite Jax courses, full of great history and the one with the most elevation change. Greens are coming back nicely. Staff is great, Wayne in the golf shop is always extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Proud to call it my local course.

Hmmmm, this is a tough one. This course has one of the coolest layouts I've ever seen. So much character. I have to wonder what happened to this place. I dont know how it can be surrounded by such beautiful homes and be in the shape its currently in. They should rally around this course. The greens for the most part are very good. There were a couple that were damaged but still very playable. Some of the fairways are very damaged. If you dont mind moving your ball around to find some grass then this course is for you. The layout is awesome. The greens are decent. Easily five stars when they ge…

Incredibly disgraceful to even charge $60+ for this course. Attempted to play and decided it was better not to break a club on these fairways. Tried to play here a few months ago and the sprinklers were on the fairway several of our holes. When called the clubhouse they just said try to avoid it and we’re working on the course… would have hoped for some improvement a few months later but no! It was worse! Greens, fairways, and tee boxes the worst condition I’ve seen from a golf course. Might as well go to jax beach and hit balls in the ocean from the dunes! Website advertisement vs what we act…

Two words: GOAT RANCH. Horrible and furry greens, we had to implement a 2 putt max because the greens were so bad and not fun. Fairways and tee boxes have little to no grass - certainly aware Florida has been rain starved, but doesn't this club have a sprinkler system - there's water all through the course that could recycle and feed sprinklers that they obviously don't use. So disappointing - they truly should close for a period and attempt to get the course back - layout isn't that bad, but any greens-keeping staff associated with this club should be ashamed.

I’ve had some horrible golf experiences in my day, but this one may very well take the cake. Where do I even begin??? The sand on the greens? The radical Canadian geese that seem to have overthrown the grounds crew? Perhaps the audacity of course management to think charging $50 is an acceptable price for this nightmare? Let’s start with the sand and green conditions. These greens were so sand covered that I wouldn’t have been surprised to round the turn to find a camel sipping a beer and ripping a cigarette. Why waste all that precious sand in bunkers when you could just dump 60 metric tons…

This course is in really bad shape. Very little grass on the tee boxes, very little grass in the fairways, I would give it a one star, but the greens were somewhat OK other than being very long and the staff was super nice. It was definitely not worth 50+ dollars to play here. I hate it because the layout is actually pretty cool.

I’m sorry to say I had the displeasure of playing this awful course earlier this year. There was only one green that could be considered a green. The rest of them were in such bad shape your ball would jump left or right due to the blemishes in the green making it impossible to read a putt. Basically, you’d putt your ball and cross your fingers. Sand traps were like gravel. Fairways you couldn’t even tell where the first cut ended and the second cut began. There are worn out course, and there are courses where the owner simply does not care. Hidden Hills is the latter of the two. No clue what…

The course has made tremendous strides over the past few months. Course conditions have improved significantly. It’s clear that management and staff have invested considerable effort into elevating the overall playing experience. If you haven’t visited recently, I highly recommend returning to see the positive changes firsthand.

Dreadful is the word I would use to describe this golf course, “Tony” the employee had the biggest attitude and was very disrespectful towards me and my group. I “John” paid $90 for a full 18 which is not horrible, Although I was expecting the course to live up to the reviews and the price. In addition to the disrespect, the course was just in awful condition the greens are the worst greens I’ve ever seen. If “Tony” simply stated that the greens were that awful I would have just turned around and left. In conclusion this course is just horrible, from the staff to the course just overall a 1 st…

This course is absolutely terrible. I wish I can give it zero stars. I play all over Jacksonville and this course is absolutely trash. On top of that it costs 70$ to play. DO NOT PLAY HERE. Service is terrible, any other course in jax fairways are better than the greens. ABSOLUTE RIP OFF ZERO STARS.

Really disappointed in this course. Greens were slow, bumpy, and in need of some love. Same with the tee boxes. Course design and layout was fantastic. Seems like it has seen better days. Pro shop staff was great and the cost with cart was reasonable.
