In summary

Hooper offers a visually appealing and challenging layout with well-designed bunkers and a variety of holes, making it a hidden gem for many golfers. The staff is frequently praised for their friendliness and accommodating nature. However, some visitors have noted issues with course conditions, such as greens needing attention and occasional waterlogged bunkers. Additionally, the course layout has been described as unconventional, with some logistical challenges like a lack of yardage markers and cart paths.

I’m not sure I played the same course as some of these other reviews. The course is wide open and wasn’t busy during the week. The course layout is crazy, hole 9 is nowhere near the clubhouse. The conditions of the course are horrible. Some of the bunkers are filled with water and were unplayable. Speaking of unplayable, the greens need a lot of attention. See pictures for current conditions of the course.

Beautiful course. Staff and everyone are very welcoming. It’s a fun design and even more enjoyable to know the history behind the course. Well maintained and the greens are beautiful and difficult. Thoroughly enjoyed being here and can’t wait to come back. Convenient location for beach getaway trip without the horrible beach crowds but close enough to drive after the round.

I was in town for business and had a chance to play a quick 9. Staff was friendly. Round was affordable with cart. They even have a range. The fairways are average and the green roll nice. The course is challenging yet not to difficult.

Nice course and employees. Have to watch seasons with beach turf, can be dry.

Staff is great, but for a senior, rates jumped this year so I'll have to play it less. Condition is better than most public courses. If you've never played here, put it on your list.

A great golf value! The course was in great shape, a challenging layout with a good choice of tee boxes. I would definitely go back.

Course is very over priced to be in that poor of condition. If the course is in such poor of a condition should at least be told at clubhouse and given some sort of discount. Greens were awful mostly sand with very few patches of grass. Looks like it was just aerated and when you try to putt your ball just bounces all over the place. Bunkers had water in them. Rough was way too over grown with lots of clippings on it, with some clippings in the fairways.

Visited here to play a round of 18 alone while my partner was at a conference. Staff were friendly and attentive. The course was good. Nothing great to write home about but a good and leisure 18. The greens are very fast and deceiving but the fairways are sponges. Where your ball drops on a fairway is where it will stick. Those relying on rolling an extra 15-20 yards on your shot....don't count on it here. If you are from the Baltimore, MD area then I would describe this course as if Mt. Pleasant and Clifton Park courses decided to have a child. Would go again and play. Terrific slower pace…

My visit was terrible. Went for 9 holes at twilight. My wife, my and my infant. Someone came out and said that my wife needed to pay to be sitting in the cart. TO BE SITTING IN THE CART WITH OUR INFANT. not golfing... The greens aren't even taken care of either.. Then the person at the pro shop was also a total joke. These reviews must be payed reviews because there are people complaining about the same thing... yet leaving 4+ stars... Simply avoid.

The boys and I hit the driving range and it’s always a fun and affordable time.

What a great track. As far as public courses go this one is excellent. Holes are varied, greens are guarded by really well designed bunkers, trees are plentiful, and the course is in great shape. What a real gem. Wish I lived closer to play regularly.

Hidden Gem worth the trip! Just played this course yesterday and what a nice surprise. It was in great shape, the greens were rolling true and fast. What I liked best was the course is visually beautiful, lot's of eastern shore native tall grasses and trees but also situated on enough acreage that the fairways on most holes are wide and forgiving. I'll be back!
