In summary

Houston Springs Golf Course is appreciated for its friendly and welcoming staff, reasonable rates, and a layout that offers a mix of wide fairways and challenging narrow sections. However, many visitors express concerns about the poor condition of the greens and fairways, which detract from the overall playing experience. The course's unique design, evolving from 9 to 18 holes, is noted for its potential, but maintenance issues and a few customer service complaints have been highlighted as areas needing improvement.

2.5* Course is in the 55+ community, likely sustained by them as only a few carts are out. Nice little pro shop with a friendly staff. Range closed. Reasonable rates. The course is dictated by how it grew from 9 holes, to 12, to 18. The first six holes – the last 6 added – are well designed and play through scenic, undeveloped land. Long drive to #2. These greens though are dreadful; really detracts from the rest of the layout. The next three holes (10-12 built) are also well designed. Greens have some grass, but the change will jar your putting. Scenic par-5 with ponds along left to close. Th…

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The clubhouse is cute and quaint. The course, however…it would be best to save your $25-28 unless you are a golfer who enjoys having the course to yourself, or are bringing a beginner golfer and don’t want to feel rushed! I read a previous review that said the first 6 holes were the last 6 to be built, and we left after the first 6. Glad I had good company! It was very hard to adjust the conditions. You can tell they are trying to do what they can, but it seems like there are only a few people to be able to keep up an 18 hole course on their ow…

Staff were very welcoming and friendly. They took the time to give me a run down of the course, its layout, and how to play a few of the holes. The front 9 is wide open fairways, the back 9 is very narrow which provides me a challenge since I struggle off the tee box. Rates were reasonable and comparable for the course in the area. I enjoyed my round and would love to play again when I’m in the area next.

showed up at 3:05 Sunday afternoon like I have many times, and closed. Google said closes at 4 on Sunday. Frustrating after a good little ride to get there. Really enjoyed playing there in the past. Running out of options to golf in middle ga.

One of the three attendants that work there is rude and unpleasant to deal with every time I come in, for no reason. He will make up rules and requirements that aren’t posted anywhere and none of the other attendants ever mention. Too many other golf courses in the area for me to choose from to have to put up with poor customer service!

Absolute waste of money, not a single green is playable, seems to get worse over the years, charges the same rate you can play SLGC, or HLCC for and those courses are 100% better . Office worker has been rude nearly ever time I have played here. Avoid this course at all cost.

Front 9 holes are good, wide fairways. Greens are coming back. Had someone with a truck screw up #6 green. Great course to learn on. If you stay on cart path on the back nine, you’ll find ALL the tee boxes. The back 9 is layed out very strangely and its very narrow. Many trees have been cut down and trimmed up! MUCH BETTER NOW!! You’ll work on your short game for sure. It’s a great experience! Play here often and you’ll get the hang of the course. We take a two putt max on holes # 2,3,4 & 6 until the grass comes back. Give it some time folks, it’s getting better.

I live in Houston County and have played all the courses in this county dozens upon dozens of times in the last few years. I logged 87 rounds of golf last year. This course is by far the worst one. The staff were very friendly and helpful & I have zero complaints on that. The course however……yikes! The fairways have ZERO turf. They look like what you would see at a public recreational park ball field. Basically mowed weeds. Each fairway was simply mowed weeds and dirt patches. The greens were SMALL! Some greens were maybe 8 yards wide by 10 yards in length! Smaller than most backyard patios…

Guy in the clubhouse was very friendly. Course seems to be fairly new was never really held up even on saturday morning. The layout is very neat but some tee boxes need some work done on them as well as some greens. The bunkers are very nice. However, some holes are very very tough on the back if you have never played there before you must know where you can hit the ball on very tight tee shots. Overall it was a great experience and I will definitely be back again.

Well folks, I was pleased to see a course pop up where I never thought I'd see one. (Graduated high school in '83 and moved ) but it is not comparable to true 18 hole courses like Houston lake etc. But if you wanna just get out and play a tune up round it's a good choice. Best regards, A.P.M .

March 27, 2022. The guy running the clubhouse is a very hateful man. The family went for an nice afternoon of golf. But thanks to the grouchy old man at the front desk, he ruined our day. We played our 9 holes but we had to RUSH because he had come searching for us telling us to pick up our game. My daughter and I are not horrible golfers but we are still in the learning stages so we don’t play quite as fast as the pros. The guy running the front desk made it where my daughter and I didn’t play the whole time because we felt like we were the slow ones. My son, who is a local dentist, said he w…

This place is a joke. $45 dollars to play 9 holes and it's like hitting out of a sand trap around every green . I took my 7 year old son that hit maybe 3 holes and was accused of having an "extra" player with a 7 year old. Take the extra time and play houston lake or southern hills. Both are within 15 minutes and cost about the same and the courses are not even comparable. I play alot of courses and this is by far the worst in many ways. Have a great day and thanks.
