In summary

Hyland Golf Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, fast and true greens, and interesting layout with varying elevations and water hazards. The staff is often described as friendly and accommodating, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. While the clubhouse and range are noted as dated, and some mention a lack of water stations on hot days, the overall value and experience make it a popular choice among golfers in the area.

Played last December and loved the course. Fast, undulating greens, great conditions. Very fun layout. Was scheduled to bring a group of 20 this summer for a Ryder Cup style trip. They called and warned me that they had to change their aeration schedule and would be punching the greens right before we were supposed to play. Very classy to give us a heads up so we didn’t show up to surprise. We ended up moving to another course but will definitely be back in the future. Highly recommend, especially for the price compared to other courses in the area. (Hyland > Talamore imo)

Our group of 12 teed off here on Saturday morning at 8:15. The course was crowded, and it definitely gives off an older country club style look when you pull up. Club is a little dated, range is nothing special, but the course was great. Greens were huge and rolled true and fast. For an $85 Saturday morning round, it's tough to beat the value. Bartender was awesome, starter and pro were both very nice and helpful. I'd play again for sure.

We enjoyed play at this course, although there is no option to play 9 holes, only 18. Jeannetta at the bar made my whole day. Such kindness and wonderful service. Thank you!

Coming down from PA for a NC golf trip and we played here before + after Tobacco Road. Thought this would be a “cheaper” warm up / filler course. I was wrong. This course is great and truly is a hidden gem. The course has a great mix of challenging and scoreable holes with really fun par 3s, reachable par 5s. Wanted to give a huge thank you for also letting us play after our round at Tobacco Road. We called up around 6:15PM without a tee time and itching to play more golf. We agreed to walk 9 as the course closes at 7:00, but to our surprise were given carts to take out. Thank you so much aga…

Read some reviews about how this course was a hidden gem; we played here yesterday as a warm up round before Tobacco Road and it did not disappoint. The range could use some work, but the course was beautiful and offered some unique challenges. I’ll definitely be back the next time we are out this way!!

First time playing here and wasn't sure what to expect. Pulling up doesn't look like much as the club house is older, but very well kept. Staff was friendly, carts have seen better days. Course was in great shape and course has a great layout, good elevations and beautiful large greens. Greens rolled nice and you can tell the money put into this place is paying off. Pace of play was outstanding (played 3.5 hrs on Saturday afternoon). Had water and cart girl on the course which these days isn't always a given even on the weekends. Great value for the course, would recommend giving it a go, will…

I am a high handicap golfer and thoroughly enjoyed Hyland. You can book tee times online or over the phone. It’s a playable course for both high handicap golfers like myself and is a great warmup course for those doing a golf vacation in the Pinehurst area. Veteran owned and a great vibe that is just the right amount of chill/informal.

As a golf course superintendent and avid golfer, this is one of the best golf courses for the price you will pay in the Sand Hills of North Carolina. It’s a very low-key mom and pop type feel which is welcoming to everyone but the conditions are immaculate. The reason I found the course is via google maps aerials which showed that they just installed a new irrigation system which shows that this course cares about providing good conditions. If you’re playing golf in the Southern pines area, this is a must play.

Course conditions were very good. Wicked fast greens, but ran true. Will definitely keep this on our list of Pinehurst courses. Will return.

Excellent course just outside Southern Pines and Vass. Course layout was interesting and the greens/fairways were awesome! Everything was in excellent condition and the price was not bad at all! My favorite I've played so far in the surrounding area. Highly recommend you check it out !

This is a fun little track and always one of my favorites to visit. Staff is personable and they're always willing to work with you to accommodate a last minute replay request or late start due to getting held up by slow play on a separate course in the morning. A must visit in my opinion!
