This is a wonderfully laid out golf course. When I first moved to SC in 2003 I loved this course. I went back last year and it was horrible! So I just played again in 2021, and it is not any better even with the current golf boom we have had since covid. Such a sad state for a great place. It's obvious that management is doing nothing to maintain this golf course, but they are happy to take your money. Another Columbia golf course that has been neglected. I'm only giving it 2 stars because of the layout.

Let me start by saying the course layout is kinda weird, but the holes themselves are fantastic. Now, the grass (if you can call it that) is horrible, there's more sand than grass honestly. The grass in the fairways is so long and thick that i legitimately lost 2 balls in the fairway. The bunkers are just a dent in the ground with weeds everywhere. Most of the ponds in the layouts are just so densely weeded/overgrown with trees. Yes, trees. It's a real shame because this course could be so much more. And to think that they're charging 30 DOLLARS FOR THIS. This place is honestly a scam. My ra…

Well maintained course with beautiful river and forest view. Various elevation in each fairway and green make lot of fun and challenge for the players. Definitely worth to play again and again.

Played in late May 2022. The greens, fairways, and tee boxes are completely lost here. No grass all sand. There were maybe 3-4 below average greens and the rest were awful. A few holes look like waste bunkers down the entire fairway. I've never seen anything like it on a golf course. Some of the tee boxes may as well have been bunkers. Could not get any footing. I give it two stars because of the truly amazing layout and what could be. Not sure of the finances of this course but whatever they're doing with the grass I'd say they need to do the opposite. I'd pay $20 tops to play here with a cou…

Nice Golf course, I gave it 5 because the course is perfect for me, I just moved here form Ohio. Course has nice layout with some challenging holes but not so hard you can't score. I cant wait to play it in the spring and summer. Vince the gentleman the runs the front desk is awesome and super friendly, the people that work here are great. Great value as a senior it is only $16 for 9 with cart and $22 for 18. you cant beat that with stick. Check it out I don't think you will be disappointed.

Nice layout, some forced carries that are tough for us hackers. Only $25 for 18 with cart, good value!

Went here with a couple of friends. Used to be a decent course when I went last time about a year ago. For the price the are charging you would expect yo actually be able to use a putter on the green. They are horrendous. There’s no way to even attempt to try and read a putt. There’s atleast 5 holes that don’t even have fairways left. They are just sand. Could be such a fun track. Plenty of other courses to go play.

If you are looking for a premium golf experience this is not it. However, if you are looking for a course with reasonable pricing and a unique layout Indian River can certainly fit the bill. Some fairways have little to no grass and greens are patchy with lots of sand. But you get what you pay for. Fun course to mess around on or get started in golf.

This is one of the first courses I played when I started golfing about 3 years ago. It has gone down hill every time I play. With such a beautiful layout, it’s a shame the owner doesn’t put more back in to the course. Currently charging over $30 per round. With current conditions, I wouldn’t pay $20. I can’t emphasize enough how beautiful this course COULD be with just a little more care.

I liked the course although some places were hard and sandy. Golf cart was extremely slow so we changed it out and the next one was not better. Cart path had some washed out areas and sand along the paths. The course was challenging enough. Other that that, the course was beautiful, as the surroundings are great with the lake and forest. Saw rabbits, turtles, and other wildlife. We had a good time.

Had not played Indian River in 15 years until this summer and was shocked by poor course condition. Wonderful layout that has not been properly maintained. No. 7 was beautiful hole and now there is not any grass on fairway. Hope someone will invest money to bring this course back. Truly unique layout in SC.

This place is absolutely a disgrace to the game of golf. The ownership is careless and has completely neglected the course. All of the greens are dead, overgrown and unputtable. The cost is $33 pay at course and yet online it’s $17 so you’ll get robbed completely if you pay at the course. The staff is friendly and I have had nothing but good to say about them. The management is trash and this course will be out of business soon. Do not play here unless you want an extra 10 strokes from abnormal course conditions.
