What People Say
Indianhead Mountain Resort, now known as Snowriver, is praised for its high-speed lift, well-maintained slopes, and friendly staff, particularly highlighting exceptional service from a staff member named Kevin. The resort offers a variety of amenities including a pool, sauna, and hot tub, and provides a positive skiing and snowshoeing experience. However, some visitors express dissatisfaction with changes in pass partnerships, limited food options, and inconsistent customer service, alongside concerns about room temperature and ski-in/ski-out accommodations not meeting expectations.
I can’t stress enough how amazing the new high speed lift is. My biggest frustration with skiing in the midwest is definitely the ancient double chairlifts that put you to sleep on the way up. Skiing the UP is generally very cold and it only gets colder the longer you sit on a lift. 3 minutes to the top in a comfy 6 seat high speed lift is absolutely the way to go. You can get laps and fresh snow for days on that bad boy. The T-Bar is also clutch because it seems like people are too scared to ride it, so you get fresh laps on some really great terrain. This is definitely my favorite place to s…
I just spent three nights at the lodge at Jackson Creek summit. My wife and i were able to get a mid-week deal for a room and lift tickets. I feel the overall experience was definitely worth the price and appreciate everything (mountain, bar/restaurant, sauna, hottub and pool) the facility has to offer. I skied and my wife went snowshoeing. We both had fun and look forward to spending more time in the area. The mountain was well maintained and the crew was friendly and helpful. The express lift seats six and is very quick to return you to the top of the mountain.
Kevin was hands down the highlight of staying at the Lodge. He was professional, courteous, friendly, and had so many local.tips for us outside of the ski hill! He was the best staff interaction we had! He really goes above and beyond in customer service, and I believe Jackson Creek is very fortunate to have him representing their business!
Have stayed in older condos a few times. Nice for larger groups, but some lodging is quite dated. Other loading is much newer. Lots of ammenities with pool, sauna, large hot tub,
The location of our room was very convenient for skiing at Jackson Creek. We could easily see the main lift from our first room. But the room was overheated for the weather (about 83 degrees in the room when we first got there, with outside temperatures in the 30s) and there wasn't much the staff could do about it except suggest that we leave windows open. Also, they said they would send someone to check the room for us twice and we never heard back from them. Eventually, I went to the front desk in person and they offered us another room in a nearby building which was a much better temperatur…
What a terrible decision by the new owners to betray midwest skiers the way they are doing by switching the ICON. It's a betrayl not only to Indy Pass holders but also the locals who have put so much trust in the new ownership. Obviously this company does not care about local skiers but instead the millionaires that are ruining the ski industry. Also the last time I was here I was chewed out by a liftie and ski patrol for skiing on a run that was open. Rude staff!
Service at jacks cafe was wonderful. We ordered a crispy chicken wrap and mogul monster. The chicken wrap was so mushy I could not eat it. The burger was ordered medium rare and was delivered dried out and inedible. Great resort but the food is definitely subpar!
First of all I have come to this resort since 1988. I have since move to NC and was here on vacation after the newest company purchase 4 years ago and now this year. While there are improvements there are definitely things that need to be addressed. No bashing here just honest feedback. First- food. Limited menus all the same served throughout the resort. Salads were ok, burgers and chicken def need improvement. Pizza was ok. That’s about it besides a few apps. Chicken sandwich fake ish. Breakfast is only served at Jack’s bar at the top of the hill, so no longer served in the actual lodge, whi…
Not quite sure what to say here. Just returned from Snowriver and an epic powder weekend. But unfortunately you can’t count on honesty these days. Snowriver promises you the world and delivers none of it. Terrain - covered in record snows, but all but two runs at BRB closed. Asinine. PS - no one believes your ‘lift maintenance’ story, you’re just fraudulent. Lunch at Jack’s - well 1/2 your party can order, but then staff refuse to place orders for the other 1/2. Not sure how that lunch is supposed to work out. All in all, with the snow the get it’s hard to screw it up, but hmmm somehow custome…
It’s really sad to see that you guys have turned your back on Midwest skiers who have supported small independent ski resorts for so long. Selling out to IKON pass and turning your back on Indy Pass holders is so un-Midwestern and alienating to your base customers. This is a sad day for Midwest skiing.
We were disappointed with our recent stay at Snow River Resort, especially given the price and expectations. Before arrival, staff told us the resort would be ~90% open for Christmas week. In reality, only a small portion of runs were open despite cold temperatures and natural snowfall, which felt misleading. We also paid a premium for a ski-in/ski-out Bear Creek condo, but the unit opened onto a forested, ungroomed, and closed area—making it not ski-in/ski-out as advertised. There was widespread confusion among staff about operating hours and shuttle service. Shuttle delays were severe, wi…
Snowriver's secret ingredient is Kevin behind the bar. He makes each of our trips memorable and is a familiar face in what can sometimes feel like a big resort. Kevin isn’t just a bartender he’s part storyteller, and part unofficial mayor of the local scene. Whether you’re a first-timer or a regular, he somehow remembers your drink, your name, and probably where you skied that day. His cocktails? Spot on, every time. His recommendations? Even better, he’ll guide you to the best runs, the best eats, and the hidden gems around town like a true connoisseur of all things Snowriver and the surround…
