In summary

Kerr Lake Country Club is appreciated for its challenging layout, especially the back nine, and the friendly, accommodating staff. The course offers a beautiful setting and is considered a great value, particularly on weekdays. However, some visitors have noted issues with course maintenance, such as the condition of bunkers and the driving range, as well as occasional problems with pace of play and enforcement of course etiquette.

Pretty challenging course for beginners. The back 9 are NOT forgiving (lots of crowned and sloped greens!!), so make sure to shoot your best on the front 9! Beautiful scenery! Best quality bunkers anywhere around this time of year!!! I can't understate that! Very helpful and friendly staff. The entire experience was nothing short of above par! 😉 Can't wait to come back!

This course is pretty close to my house, and convenient for me to hit the range and play. I do have on gripe, however. I suggest that they hire a course marshall to enforce the rules and course etiquette. Occasionally you will find groups of more than 4 people playing together. They will have 3-5 carts as well as walkers in that same group. Those same groups won't allow smaller groups to play through. Hopefully, the course manager can address those few bad apples that makes it a bad experience for the masses. This pic below was from 9/30/23 on the 2nd hole. Eight golfers playing the same hole…

We played this course in early november. On the plus side we got off in front of everybody and as a twosome, completed the course in 3 hours. Greens were fast but that has a lot to do with the Bermuda being dormant. For the most part there is plenty of room in the fairway to hit a tee shot. There are some short holes and long holes. The course is fairly hilly. Was not impressed with the sand traps or the practice area. Overall condition was so so. The greens for the most part are small and there are some roll-off areas so it's important to know what side of the PIN to miss on.

How do you list a 6:50 tee time and then kick us off the course at 7:30? How do you expect someone to play 9 holes of golf in 40 minutes when 3 people only got to play 5 holes of golf, and on top of that it was $87 dollars total for 3 people to play for 40 minutes. They were NOT nice asking us to leave either, show up at at LEAST 5pm to play 9 holes.

Friendly staff. Nice and challenging course. Only issue was the driving range. Could not believe where and how it was. Had to take a second thought I wasn't in someone else's backyard, saying worse ever. Great course, but again even in 3rd world countries driving ranges were better...lol

Very friendly and helpful staff. Course was in great shape for what you would expect for the price. They gave me a military discount even though it isn't advertised. Would highly recommend this course if you are looking for a course to play in this area.

What do you get at a public golf course that charges $11 to walk all day on a Monday? From my perspective, one of the great bargains golfing bargains in North Carolina! This low-key and pleasant course has two very different nines. The back nine is more interesting, with its elevations changes, water hazards, some elevated greens, and generally good conditioning. The front nine was ok, but not as challenging or engaging. If you choose to play more than 18, try the back nine first, go through 1-9, and then return to 10-18. I ended up walking 22 holes in 3 1/2 hours while taking a break on a dri…

Place has the potential to be a gold mine. The "driving range" was none existent. No markers nothing. They give you a bag of balls in a Walmart bag with balls that are so cut up it'd nick clubs to hit them. The course was actually pretty decent. Some of the greens were bad in spots dead divot spots. Bunkers had not been raked in months it looked like. If someone bought put some effort in fixing this place it would be a phenomenal course!
