In summary

Lake Barrington Shores Golf Club is often praised for its well-maintained course, beautiful layout, and friendly staff, with many visitors appreciating the overall golfing experience. However, there are significant concerns about the club's recent transition to a private membership model, leading to confusion and frustration for those booking through public platforms, as well as dissatisfaction with increased fees and limited amenities. Additionally, some visitors have noted issues with sand traps and inconsistent availability of food and beverages.

Had a great time here as a guest over the weekend. This course far exceeded my expectations. Great tee boxes, lovely fairways, and some really nice greens. Each hole was neat and I loved all 18 of them. Service was fantastic. Dominic does a great job with the course and Shane’s team provided a great dining experience. Geo makes a mean Old Fashioned.

Home owners own it now, have a new management company. I've belonged here since 1989. Let's see what this year bring's, the place needs some work

I was a member last year (2024) with many of my friends who played this course roughly 20 times. Friday I played what was a year ago 55$ with cart on Fridays. I payed 90$ to play this year. What did I get for this added cost? You can put out of the sand traps, they are as hard as cement. The grill was closed, so no lunch available. After the round we would go have a beer, not this time the bar was closed on a Friday afternoon. If your goal was to alienate people. Mission accomplished. You are not a 90 dollar a round golf course.

The golf course is a beautiful track and very well maintained. Sand traps are the only issue. But pace a play is four hours or less and the amount of people out on the course is very minimal. Highly recommended

I'm a resident of LBS and recently the HOA bought the course. HOA fees increased because of this. The course has become a private club now, which also excludes residents. Now it will cost me $80 to play solo on a weekday and $90 on a weekend. Which is far too much to pay for this course. They've affectively worked to weed out the casual golfers such as myself. It's a shame because I really enjoyed playing here. But now, I'll have to go elsewhere.

Unfortunately, LBS Golf is trying to make money on guest golfers!! They are targeting guests for speeding tickets, specifically to raise money. The fines for these tickets are ridiculous, over $150 , with the intention of making money on guest golfers. If you get invited to golf there as a guest, I would turn down the offer. Besides the high guest golf fees, they are going to bust you for going 30 mph, without any validation of equipment. BEWARE

Richard( the “owners son “) followed us through out the round. Even hiding behind trees and bushes. Really weird Because apparently hitting two drives of the first tee is “illegal”. This man doesn’t need to be out there harassing customers and I can see his attitude costing this golf course $$$. The place was empty. The golf course was nice. Minus this clown

This is a very nice course. Well kept fairways and rough. The greens run true. We had a Sunday mid morning tee time (prime time, right?) and there was no drinks/snacks on course. No food at the turn either. We used to come here and it was like a country club. Now more like some muni course. What's happened here?

Booked thru GolfNow but Got rejected at the gate. Turns out the course turned to private 2 days ago but still allow public bookings and no communications. The security kid at the gate is very rude and won’t talk to the proshop. Very disappointed and won’t come back for sure.
