Fantastic course and a great challenge. Most second shots are uphill or downhill, so you really have to think your way around the course and try and set yourself up. The fairways were freshly cut and plush, and the greens were pure, firm, fast, and rolling true for the most part. For courses in the bay, the views are incredible pretty much on every hole, with 16 overlooking the entire Bay Area so that was cool. I played a tournament at Lake Chabot GC Superbowl Sunday before the game. The day started out foggy, but once it cleared I was able to take in the beauty of this course. The course was in very good condition, considering the time of year. The layout of the course was on the tighter side, meaning the fairways were narrow. The course also had a couple holes where your tee shot would land in a blind area. If the groups were not paying attention they were likely to hit into you. The greens were fast and had plenty of contour. Finding yourself below the hole would put you at a definite advantage.…

Lanke chayote Golf courses is a challenging course in the oakland hills. Multiple elevations, blind shots big sloped fairways, and some smaller greens make this well kept course on your toes. There are a lot of great views through out the course good luck!

Had a wonderful time at Lake Chabot in August 2025. The fairways and greens were in great shape, and the pace of play was fine. I hadn’t played the course since 2022. I didn’t know that the course is over 100 years old. It’s not that long, but if the wind is blowing, it can be very challenging. One word of caution on the par 6 18th hole. Don’t touch any balls on the fairways that don’t belong to you. The group behind yours might have some big hitters, OR, sometimes the ball just keeps rolling down the hill. Golf course that feels like you're far away from home as its very scenic. It has unique features such as a par 6 and a par 3 with a big drop. Great customer service, the course was in good condition as expected.

Lake Chabot is one of my home courses. We all love this course! It's in great condition, carefully maintained and friendly employees. It's a very hilly course that tends to get a bit bogged down around the 7th, 8th, and 9th holes. There's no marshall, so there's no monitoring of players. It's a challenging course, but fair with the ONLY par 6 (18th) hole in the region. Go play!!

Played a round with friends and honestly we didn’t know what to expect—especially given that the green fees were much more reasonable than other courses in the Bay Area. We weren’t expecting much, but we all were pleasantly surprised. The landscape is dramatic and absolutely beautiful, and the course itself was a great experience start to finish. Also worth calling out: the hot dogs/hot link are legitimately excellent. Not joke. Huge shout-out to Will and Bodhi as well. Did the 9 hole executive par 3 course, first time ever playing for the gf and this had plenty of variation and shot length for her to try out a bunch of her clubs, for seasoned golfers I think the longest club you might need would be a 7 iron perfect sunday bag walking course. Also very affordable I think is was 25 dollars for the 2 of us to play

A rather interesting course to play at. A LOT of up and down hill, especially their signature Hole 18, which is a Par 6 hole (first time ever for me), it goes big downhill first, and a big uphill in front of green, not just the distance and accuracy, but also your course management skill, to lay up for your next shot. Was surprised to find out that this is actually a more than 100 years old course, big tribute to it 👍

Wish path ways are repaved or remove completely with dirt . It’s dangerous to ride as they are. But some of the holes are very unique

I’ve lived in the East Bay my entire life and for some reason I’ve never got around to playing here. I’m sad I didn’t come here sooner. It has an old school feel to it right when you enter the front gates. The clubhouse is charming and modeled after the old Spanish style. Putting and chipping areas are well maintained, and there’s a nice little driving range attached. The snack shack is run by some ladies with great energy and equally great tasting food. I can’t name a course I’ve played like this. Only 5900 yards from blues but I was a club short all day. Finally figured it out on the back 9. You truly need to club up on any approach. Greens are relatively tiny and seem to sit flat. I can’t wait to come back bc course knowledge on this course is a must! This course has to be a blast dry.
