Legacy Golf Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, challenging yet enjoyable layout, and excellent facilities, including a welcoming clubhouse and advanced GPS carts. Many visitors appreciate the efficient pace of play and attentive staff, making it a popular choice for both individual rounds and group outings. However, some players have expressed concerns about the strict enforcement of pace of play, which they feel can detract from the overall enjoyment of the game.

I played this course today, looking for a place I hadn’t played before. I visit Des Moines periodically. I came here almost specifically because of the recent bad review. The review stated the course was on him because of slow play… Hooray!! Some players just think because they paid for a round that the course belongs to them alone. They don’t realize every one behind them has to stand around waiting on them. So, good for this course to think about ALL the players. Also, most of the other reviews were great. I found the course to be in great shape, the greens were large and fair. The clubhouse…

Playing a round here was a fantastic experience because the course is kept in such great shape. The greens are smooth and fast, and the fairways look like a bright green carpet stretching out toward the desert hills. I really enjoyed the layout because it offers a good challenge with some tricky sand traps, but it is still fun even if you aren't a pro. The clubhouse is very welcoming and the practice area is perfect for warming up before you head out to the first tee. It is a beautiful place to spend a morning outdoors enjoying the sunshine and some high-quality golf.

Value has really tanked the last few years. Getting "owned by a PE firm vibes" here now. Prices have increased sharlpy while value and quality have drastically dropped. God forbid you fall even 5 minutes behind pace you'll have a marshal following you every other hole telling you to pick it up. But don't forget to "fix all divots on the green and tee box, limit your time at the turn to under 5 minutes and only look for your lost ball(s) for two minutes max" too. That'll definitely help keep you on pace. They ask you to be at 2:15 for 9 holes. We finished the front 9 at 2:09 and they still said…

Always a top notch experience at Legacy. Personally a big fan of the family owned courses that treat you as such and the course never disappoints! I mean come on… any course open in February is doing something right!!!!! 5 stars in my book, must play in Iowa

First time playing this course. Very enjoyable layout and the houses are not right on top of the course. Greens were very slow and some construction on 15 was the only reason I'd give it 4 stars.

Love playing out at Legacy! Staff is great, pace of play is always on time, I appreciate they are willing to get on slower groups. Much better experience than the 4 Des Moines public courses (Waveland, Blank, Grandview, and Jester). Would highly recommend the course to all golfers of any skill level.

Awesome, well maintained greens and fairways. Electric GPS carts, Bluetooth for music, touchscreen yardage. Good pace, 4 hour round. No waiting on groups to tee off. Nice and smooth. What more could you ask for?

I played this last Tuesday morning. Beautiful day and I honestly loved the course. The only issue I had was the pin placements. We just assumed the guy who placed them had a bad day. They were almost all on a direct slope. Made it very difficult to 2 putt. When the course is already difficult with a decent amount of hazards and narrow fairways, and multi-level greens. It’s probably not necessary to place the pin in between the two different levels of the green, directly on the slope. Like I said, beautiful course, well taken care of, but geesh! I had four footers that rolled barely by the hole…

I live above the 10 green and look out over the beautiful course everyday. I watch how they mow the fairways, the rough and the greens. They roll the greens and mow the greens everyday. I also play the course alot. It's like playing on a country club. The manning take much pride on how the course plays and how it looks. It's one of the best privately owned but public courses around.

Had our annual church golf outing for 96 golfers this week. Trevis and the golf staff do a wonderful job making the process go smoothly. The course was in awesome condition. Angie had the luncheon ready to go when we finished and got us through in no time. Good was great as well!. Highly recommend the Legacy Golf Club for a group outing or just a fun round of golf

If you want to play golf, this is where you go. It is a beautiful course and extremely well maintained with excellent facilities. If you want to play behind a group of 5 and spend 6 hours waiting to hit your shot go somewhere else. Pace of play is maintained at 4 hours 15 minutes. Nobody maintains place of play as well as Legacy. I cannot tell you how much I love this course! also, we love Joanna.
