A long time Des Moines legend. Wonderful place for party. I played in a band that played Christmas music for clients and was impressed with the entire facility.

Went for the Principal Charity Classic. Wonderful views, with plenty of rolling hills and big beautiful trees. The setup was perfect with never a far walk for a beverage, food or restroom facilities. Volunteers and staff were helpful and attentive. Overall excellent experience with plenty of vendors. I know they don't control the weather but it was a perfect weekend as well.

Classic golf & tennis country club that has a great community and is very inviting. The golf course has beautiful old trees and tight fairways, the tennis center is quite popular and has a highly talented pro with a large youth program. Food and beverage options are above average with some wonderful views from the terrace in the summer time. The pool is the heart of this club in the summers. We attended a graduation party here. If you're looking for a nice place to host events I would suggest looking here. The hall was nicely decorated. Server was prompt and food was fantastic! We did not do any golfing but our friends really enjoy the grounds!

Concert venues, any sporting event, event planners, etc., need to learn a thing or two about Wakonda Club and the Principal Charity Classic. The organization was unmatched, the course is absolutely gorgeous, and the staff is great!

The staff is amazing! Each time I talked with a different staff member I felt like I was the only customer they had. Often at an older country clubs you will have a men’s only vibe, my wife and I didn’t feel that here. The golf course looked really good. Also their swimming pools are some of the cleanest I have seen.

Principal Charity was ok this year. Golfers kind of sucked. Also use some of your money to help the city fix the roads around your fine establishment

Beautiful course. Never been on the inside of Wakonda before, it did not disappoint! Fun day watching the senior professional players on Saturday.

Well during the Principal Classic Tournament a golf ball from Wakonda Club came flying over their property and broke my rear passenger left window as I drove down Fleur Drive in Des Moines IA. I was told they refuse to cover these charges even though they have insurance and they are liable. I had a client in my car. What if my client had been injured by their golf ball? I filed a police report too. You know I am low income I had to borrow money to repair my window because it was below my deductible. Do better Wakonda Club! 😡
