What People Say

In summary

Les Vieux Chenes Golf Course is often praised for its well-maintained fairways, friendly staff, and reasonable pricing, making it a popular choice among locals. However, several visitors have expressed dissatisfaction with the attitude of the course marshal and the pace of play, which some find slow. Despite these concerns, many golfers appreciate the overall value and experience offered by the course.

I only practiced my irons at the range. The rental cost for a large bucket was very quite reasonable and the range is well kept. However, drivers & hybrids are not permitted due to limited distance from boundaries on the range. The same is true at the other municipal golf course (Wetlands). The clubhouse is great and the staff very courteous and helpful. In all, it’s a first rate operation.

Extremely disrespectful Marshall that did not have the decency to talk to us like the adults we are about the pace of play. We had a slight delay going front 9 to back 9 but our pace was still good. All in all we didn’t need to be talked to the way he did towards a bunch of guys just trying to have fun. Politely approaching it would have went a long way. Will not be back.

TERRIBLE experience with the Marshall, instead of asking politely if our group could please pick the pace up, he was extremely rude even when our pace was fine and we had a group in front of us. Scheduling should do better especially if they have a huge group playing that day together. NEVER coming back.

Marshal has a bad attitude. He came up to me and was straight up disrespectful for absolutely no reason or maybe the reason is because he’s old and doesn’t get anything from his wife anymore? Any way our pace was so say “slow” but he only came up to us because he’s other old friends was playing behind us. Maybe don’t have the gators play tournaments every Saturday or maybe close the course to the public if y’all worried only about the gators. The course is 5 mins from my house but I will not be retiring because of the Marshal! Great job!

I played this course twice and had bad experiences both times. First off, the pro shop guys/ head pro? Are EXTREMELY rude and could care less. I had called on phone to ask simple questions beforehand and chalked it up to catching them in a rush. Nope. Just rude old men. Next was the pace of play. This is where the head pro must do their job better. It was one the slowest courses I’ve ever played on a weekday in my life. The Marshalls did absolutely nothing to speed up play. No rhyme or reason just blasting people of the tee box. It’s a shame it’s poorly run. It has a lot of potential but would…

My husband went there and the marshall is so rude. Completely ruined his game. The way they speak to customers is disrespectful and disgusting. We will not be returning

Rudest marshal I’ve ever met. Won’t be going back due to his attitude and demeanor. Ruined my Sunday and first experience here. He should spend less time smoking a cigar and put more effort into doing his job well. He lost them money today. The pro shop guys were stand off ish as well but not nearly as rude as their egotistical marshal.

Only putting one star because that’s the lowest I can go. Course is always in terrible condition and it is way overpriced. I have played here a few times, but the other day I went play and have never met someone so disrespectful, rude, and clueless as the ProShop worker Todd Robertson. The workers always are in a bad mood and act like their course is Augusta National. I will not be coming back to play here and will be making sure that word is spread around town about these experiences.

Wonderful golf course! Shot here a couple times. Once it was on a busy Saturday and we had to get paired with another pair and it wasn’t bad at all! We had fun made great conversation, and ultimately became business partners on a later date. No complaints! If you’re looking for a great course give it a try! ⛳️

First time playing here in about 10 years and I was pleasantly surprised. Although the greens are struggling a bit now with the recent cold snap, the fairways and tee boxes are absolutely PLUSH! These are the nicest fairways in the Lafayette area right now, no contest! As much play as this course has, the staff is doing a superb job of keeping the course in great shape.

Great course for Lafayette. Friendly staff and always take care of making sure we feel welcomed. Good and Quick hot or cold food available. Great price for 18 holes. Wednesday and Thursday it's $25 to play 18 holes. Can't beat it for a well maintained course.
