In summary

Linville Falls Golf Club is widely appreciated for its scenic mountain setting and well-designed layout, attributed to Lee Trevino, which offers a challenging yet enjoyable experience. Visitors commend the course's maintenance, particularly the greens, and highlight the friendly staff and modern amenities, including advanced golf carts. However, some reviews mention occasional issues with the greens and bunkers, often attributed to weather conditions, but note improvements under new management.

Excellent place to get away and enjoy golf in a well designed Lee Travino golf course. The greens are well maintained and the views of surrounding mountains adds to the enjoyment of playing at this public golf club.

Played this course over Christmas with my son and really enjoyed the round. The layout is challenging but fair and there are no gimicky holes that detract from the experience. Even though it was winter the fairways were decent and the greens putted true. The new owner has put a lot of work into the course and it shows. Looking forward to coming up again in the Spring or Summer and playing again. This would also be a good destination for a golf getaway with a group since you could stay in the adjacent Inn at Blue Ridge.

I would rate this course higher but some of the greens are a little rough. They had weeds on them. But for thr most part the course was great. I know they have had a lot of rain lately so it was cart path only. Thus is a very challenging course. This was the first time I've played it in several years. I believe it's under new management for like 3 years. It has great views. I hope they get it back in shape. I would recommend this course. The rates are not bad at all. I do like this course.

Played on 10/03/18. Very disappointed. Layout is very nice with great views however course appears and plays as if it were to close up shop within the month. Greens are horrific. Crabgrass, holes, and bare spots. Appear and putt neglected. I read great reviews before playing and understand the recent issues with rain but the course made me feel as if I went back in time. If you are looking for beautiful green tees, fairways, and greens, do yourself a favor and skip this one.

I absolutely love this course played in November and the course was in great shape! The staff was friendly, the pace was fast. There is a little something for everyone here. I am playing somewhere else tomorrow and I feel like I made a mistake. There was a major flood not to long ago that washed away a green or two but it only made the course more challenging. Lee Trevino had a hand in this course and he should be proud of it. Can't give it a 5 because I've played the revamped pinehurst #2 and that is 5 stars but this is a fabulous course!

Lets start with it is part of a very high end golf course development that unfortunately tried to open in a the very bad economy time of early 2000's. So, income is low and maintenance suffers. That said, accept it and enjoy the Lee Trevino design and absolutely beautiful mountains that surround the course along with the river that runs through it. A couple holes will remind you of the ball striking ability Trevino was known for. Have to be long and accurate. Tough but fun.

Wow...what a golf course. A mountain course with lush fairways, soft sands, and some of the best greens I've had the pleasure to walk on let alone putt on. If you cannot concentrate on your game it could be the beautiful views you get when you look down almost any of the fairways. We golfed in the early summer so everything was bright green against the Carolina blue skies. I can only imagine how beautiful it will be in the fall. It would make a great golf outing with the Inn at Blue Ridge right outside the door. If you want to golf the mountains, this is the place.

Played today 10-18-17. Great course, a lot of fun. 1st time playing Lineville Falls and will definitely play again. Fairways and greens all in great shape, a few tee boxes a lightly rough but no big deal. Somes holes are pretty narrow so you need to hit it straight. For a mountain course this doesn't have nearly the elevation change as others I've played in WNC but still great views and like I said before a fun fun course.

Very scenic mountain course and well-maintained. Variety of holes so it's not at all boring (played 3 times in 1 week). Friendly staff and easy to get a tee time, highly recommend.

Linville Falls is one of the most scenic courses you will find. The greens are very well kept, quick, and somewhat tough to read. A golf pro is the owner who set up the Ryder Cup and some major championships at Kiawah Island so it is no wonder this is the case. Jim knows what he is doing. There have been some major floods that have wreaked havoc on the course and the cold, wet winter is always demanding on the conditions. It is on the right path now. Streams and narrow fairways make club selection and strategy imperative on every hole. Go play this hidden gem, you won't be disappointed. Take s…

From tee to green you will not find a better Golf Course....the greens are some of the best around never did putt through a bare place in 18 holes!! The staff along with the PGA Profesional Jim is so nice to talk too...The views along the mountain is breathtaking....if you don't play this course you are missing a real enjoyable Golf experience!!

The golf course, greens and fairways were aerified the week of Sept, 18th. Everyone possible was notified and a discount was offered. For someone to say the greens and fairways were in terrible shape is completely unfair. They were aerified , which is a common maintenance practice , that doesn't make them in bad shape. No one was forced to play and no one complained other than this gentleman writing a bad review. Everyone was also told before they teed off of the conditions. I have had nothing but complements this week on the golf course. Sorry Mr. Lazarus did not enjoy himself . I would be ha…
