In summary

Manitou Passage Golf Club is praised for its beautiful and challenging Arnold Palmer-designed layout, featuring well-maintained fairways and greens, along with stunning views, particularly at the signature 8th hole. The staff is frequently commended for their friendliness and professionalism, enhancing the overall experience. However, some visitors have noted issues with tee box conditions and discrepancies in pricing, which have impacted their satisfaction.

Course was incredible, well worth the money. Fairways and greens were immaculate. Tee boxes were a little chewed up, but they're smaller and don't have much room. Almost all the holes are different, tree lined and have alot of elevation change. On very few holes can you see another hole, which is quite nice. The drives from greens to the next tee box are spaced out nicely so you don't feel rushed. I'll definitely be coming back to here.

Well maintained course that was designed by Arnold Palmer. The 8th hole is the course's signature hole and a personal favorite of Palmer. It has incredible views of the area and is one of best looking holes on the course. Lots of elevated tee boxes makes this an exciting place to play. Definitely recommend if you are visiting the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

I played Manitou Passage the end of September. This is a great Arnold Palmer designed course hidden in Northern Michigan. It was in excellent playing condition considering the lack of rain they have been having this year, with greens in great condition. Pricing, place of play and clubhouse were all amazing. The staff there was very friendly, I had a great experience with the pro shop and kitchen staff and I can't wait to go back.

This is a beautiful golf course. It's a little harder than what I'm used to playing, but the views were amazing. The greens were fast, and the fairways were kept up really well, too.

It’s a nice layout but 40% comparatively overpriced. Also, I looked online for $79 rate & had my son book it. When he went to pay for us it was $101 ea. or $60 delta. I decided to challenge it when we finished . On 17th hole a wonderful man as starter asked how things were playing, I said good but explained the scenario above. He said let me look into it & I’ll be back. When he was back, he said “you need to talk with GM”. I approached GM Joshua & started to explain. He gave me a perturbed look & said $100 is our rate. I said possibly when my son booked it he didn’t check the rate. I also sa…

A wonderful and challenging layout, however current course conditions don’t merit a $110 a round experience. Many tee boxes were almost completely lacking grass. Greens rolled nice but many had turf issues as well. Staff was all great from cart assistance to pro shop to bar staff. Hoping they make some improvements to the course that would leave customers satisfied for the price paid.

One of the best courses in Northern Michigan. Challenging and beautiful. An Arnold Palmer designed course it is a real bargin at the twilight rate. The staff are knowlegable and freindly. The Arnie's their bistro is serving delicious wraps, burgers and salads. Reasonable too!

I put thought into this one star rating, so hear me out. The location, course layout, clubhouse and golf carts are all very good... but the course conditions are unacceptable. We played July 8th 2023, and as previous reviewers mentioned quite clearly, many of the tee boxes were almost completely lacking grass. The overall course was equally poorly tended to- and to me, that is unacceptable. Course conditions, like tee boxes, are 100% controllable and that merits a one star rating in my opinion. Their website said $70 something, they tried to charge us $90 something! But seriously, I would not…

Manitou Passage is a very beautiful, well taken care of course! The grounds are immaculate. I really enjoyed the layout and the 8th, signature hole that had an incredible view. I definitely plan on coming back.

Excellent track, challenging with some really unique golf holes and views on the back 9 especially. Lovely club house and great staff. Keith in the bar was very friendly and professional with a great sense of humor! Definitely will be back if I find myself in Northern MI!

Awesome course. It is a challenge for every aspect of your game. I would not recommend this place if you can’t keep the ball within 15 yards of the fairway unless you love looking for your ball in the woods. Two gripes: They sanded the greens either today or yesterday. It made them incredibly inconsistent and slow in some places. If I had paid full price I would have been very unsatisfied. Rates need to come down if maintenance like that is being performed. Unless of course the greens are always like this, then my rating would go down. Second, the back nine was so slow because of 4 locals sp…
