In summary

McCall Lake Golf Course is praised for its affordability, well-maintained greens, and beginner-friendly layout, making it a popular choice among city golfers. The course offers scenic views, with highlights including the lake and downtown Calgary skyline, and is complemented by friendly and helpful staff. However, some visitors note issues with maintenance on certain fairways and tee boxes, as well as occasional slow pace of play and outdated range balls.

The price and maintenance for the course exceeds its value, making it 5 stars. It’s an easier, more open course, and it’s kept well for a city course. This is part of the reason why it’s so fully booked in golf season, if you want to play on it you generally need to book it 3 days before or as soon as the slots become available. Good value

Great course for 18 hole and 9 hole par 3 for a city course. Good for beginners wanting to learn the game. There are a few hills and bending around the corner holes to watch out for but other than that, it's an awesome course. Lots of trees around and wide open spaces. Putting green is nicely maintained, one of the faster ones I've played on. Great view of the lake and downtown Calgary on hole 7. If you're lucky you can see planes taking off with a roar over some holes... love it!

Nice golf course inside the City. It's not expensive though. They have the beginner package for Par 3, 9 hole and also economical package for family of 4. You can rent the set of club as well. Booking available through online.

Five stars on bang for buck on this one. There are still some ongoing repairs/upgrades at time of writing, but well worth the stop. Nice open fairways to bomb big drives, greens were fast and in great shape, and some aesthetically really nice holes. Good clubhouse for a public course. I will be back.

Both the par 3 and the 18 hole course are always good fun at McCall lake course. The 18 hole course is simple and well designed with a nice variety of holes. It is definitely playable for beginners. My only complaint about both courses is the lack of maintenance on some holes. A handful of tee boxes and fairways are absolutely covered in divots and almost grass less. But it is a municipal course and you are getting what you paid for. Will definitely be back.

The courses in the city are all wonderfully green this year! The 18 hole course is nice from tee up until the front of every green . Be prepared to repair ball marks and divots. Everyone learns the game somewhere. There are many people golfing here that do not read. Scorecards or understand what a divot or ball mark is.Golf etiquette is. Ergo it’s a city golf course. Be prepared for delays, long rounds, angry employees and the like. The par 3 is good after the greens have been mowed. Not many ball marks on the greens here . Which is kinda nice. Mosquitoes will get you if you are not prepared. T…

Played par 3 course here twice now. Really great course and it’s well kept! It’s a nice plus too that we can see the planes flying over us while we play.

Avoid pre-buying anything at this course and only pay in person on the day of activity....this is the 2nd time I've out of pocket booking ahead. At this same course at McCall. I won't be going back. The city courses are run much like the city. And its reflected in the staff they hire. Some great...but the new ones should be working somewhere else.

Great city course—though not the best. Excellent practice greens, solid range, and a fun layout. Lots of prairie dogs and low-flying planes add character. The par 3 attracts a few characters too. Beer and hot dogs are overpriced, as tradition dictates. Bonus points for the motorbike golf carts!

We golfing here at the Par 3 with my daughter who is 15. First time out for both of us this year and we had a great time. The staff in the Pro shop were so friendly and helpful! Just missed my som and his friend, they did 18 there and were done and gone just moments before we got there.
