In summary

The Winston Golf Club is praised for its well-maintained course, variety of holes, and friendly, accommodating staff. Many visitors appreciate the convenient location near downtown Calgary and the quality of the driving range. However, some guests express concerns about the course layout, ongoing construction, high prices, and occasional slow pace of play. Additionally, the proximity to Deerfoot Trail and the airport can result in noticeable noise for some.

Really well kept golf course minutes to downtown Calgary. Staff were helpful and kind. Really good ratio of par 5’s so our group was able to drive the ball often. Hidden gem for sure!

Nice track. Variety of holes and good condition. Too expensive, particularly without cut rate for all of the construction on pro shop and clubhouse underway.

Only went to the driving range for my friend's lessons. The staff were kind and courteous. We got to drive down to the driving range in their powercart which is a nice touch to the experience. Though you'll have to cross paths on two holes so be aware not to interfere or at least acknowledge the players before moving through. Their is a standard dress code. Check their website for more info. Otherwise the all day driving range access for $20 is great! My friend's lessons went well and she had a great time. Definitely recommend for the driving range experience. Their range is carpet and can us…

Course is okay. Whoever designed it was drunk and placed a lot of pathways going right in front of other holes tee boxes, often times with little or no notice. Course plays short but it's an inner city course so that makes sense. Currently the clubhouse is under construction so it's just an assembly of trailers. I wouldn't rush to play here again.

Great greens, scenery and ambient noise that flood out the sound of Deerfoot traffic.

Winston used to be a great track for the value on VIP however they took the course off VIP which makes it extremely pricey for value in terms of competition. Paying $140 for a round, you can golf at heritage pointe or valley ridge which are two definite better tracks. Price of everything is extremely high including drinks. They make you pay for ice which is CRAZY. My guess is, you lost a lot of golfers going this route. I will change this review based on their changes over the next few years but as of 2025, this is the current conditions for your average golfer entering Winston.

Beautiful and gorgeous course. I read some reviews about the highway noise but I barely even heard any. You won’t even notice it. The course is well groomed. Very forgiving fairways. The driving range is away from the clubhouse but it’s a really nice range. The practice green actually has holes instead of those plastic sticks. Only down side is there isn’t a map of the hole at the tea box. Finished the course just a little over 4 hours.

First time golfing there. Loved the course. The starter and course marshall a little to military for me. They reminded us of the pace of play...3 times, yet the foursome ahead of us were slower than molasses.

I can honestly say I will never golf here again. 5 hours to complete a round because there was no Marshal on course. On top of that, they charge $3 for ice for cooler. Apparently they will waive charge if you buy 4 alcoholic drinks. I don’t drink and bought two waters and two Gatorades, so they charged. $148 for round with cart, no Marshal and charging for ice… better places to spend money

Great course, service, and staff. First time playing, and if you’re not in the fairway, you’ll learn quickly on punching out and taking your medicine. Greens held true, and are consistent across all 18. Pro shop, back shop, cart girls and halfway house all provided exceptional service. A new find for me, and recommend trying it out
