In summary

McCleery Golf Course is praised for its well-maintained condition, challenging yet fair layout, and beautiful setting in Vancouver. The staff is frequently noted for their friendliness and helpfulness, and the course offers good practice facilities. However, some visitors mention issues with slow pace of play, the course becoming muddy in wet weather, and occasional dissatisfaction with the clubhouse food quality.

McCleery is on the shorter side overall, but playing it from the longest tees adds a surprising layer of challenge. The par 3s in particular stand out, stretching between 180 and 215 yards — definitely not easy and requiring precise long-iron or hybrid play. Course conditions right now are excellent. The fairways are beautifully maintained and the greens are rolling well, around a speed of 9. Visually, the course looks great and feels inviting. One thing to keep in mind is McCleery’s reputation during the rainy season. The low-lying areas can accumulate water quickly, and balls have a tenden…

Absolutely beautiful course in the heart of Vancouver. We were there on the last day of out stay at a conference and we could only get a later tee time and when we arrived, they said we couldn't tee off and rent clubs. After some pleading they were able to sneak us off the first tee, and it was a magical experience. The course was in fabulous shape and it was a challenging course, but very playable. Highly recommend taking the time to visit this course and enjoy the views and the course itself!

I like the range, chipping area and putting green. The course is a good test (hardest of the 3 Vancouver muni courses). One complaint is that the greens are too soft. Combine that with the people that don't fix their ball marks. Far too many on each hole. The two old duffers I played with didn't fix one.

Narrow fairways are a highlight of this course. Part of the Vancouver City courses so it’s very affordable but tee time are hard to get at times. Hole 10 is one of the most challenging par 4s in the public courses of Vancouver.

McLeery Golf Course is a well-maintained gem with beautiful views that make for a great round of golf. The course is challenging yet fair, with a layout that keeps you engaged from start to finish. The greens are in excellent condition (not too fast) and the fairways are well-manicured. The staff is friendly and helpful, contributing to a positive overall experience. However, securing a tee time can be a bit tricky due to its popularity, so plan ahead. Definitely recommend checking it out if you get the chance!

beautiful golf course. There have nice staffs. This is my first time to pay here and meet a very dangerous situation: I was about 10 yards to my green and suddenly a golf ball dropped around me and bounced up to 3-4 meters high and I just knew there has someone on the last top tee area to play his ball. Because there have several big trees around me, so I did not know there have a top tee area to play ball and the guy on the top tee area also was not easy to see me. I suggest the golf course to do something: net or warning sign around the green area

Considering how much rain came thru the night before, the course was in great shape and greens were running well still! The course was known for being a swamp over Winter but NOT ANYMORE - great work by the groundskeeping team.

Paid this course a visit twice while I was in Vancouver during the summer. This is a public course which is very well take care of. The only problem with this course is the mosquitos. They will definitely eat you alive during the summer months, so bring repellent. The greens were great and always in god shape. For a public course , you can’t ask for much more. Hit them long and straight! The staff very super friendly and helpful!

McCleery is a great course and has a fantastic range and practice facilities. During covid they practice social distancing and are decently organized when it comes to letting people in to the pro shop and range. Although sometimes there are plenty of empty mats at the range, sometimes the staff can't see and people need to wait longer than they need to. The course is awesome and well kept.

Mccleery is one of the 3 vancouver courses and the overall condition is not bad to mediocre, can get muddy in winter or dry in summer. Driving range is really nice along with a restaurant located in the clubhouse, my favourite is the fish and chips. Not worth playing if you are just traveling in vancouver but still decent course

For the three Vancouver courses (Langara, Fraserview, McCleery), I would rank McCleery as their 3rd best course The Good: - Their driving range is well equipped with fresh balls/mats - Good Practice facilities with chipping greens & putting greens, plus they have a section beside hole 18 that looks to be short game/pitching area, but i think that's primarily for lessons - Good concessions - The blowers to help clean shoes/carts are pretty damn strong, so that's a plus considering how grassy/sandy the course was today - The course itself is a good challenging course. Can definitely be very ta…
