In summary

Metchosin Golf & Country Club is appreciated for its welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, and scenic location, making it a popular choice for both beginners and seasoned golfers. The course is noted for its challenging layout and well-maintained greens, although some visitors have pointed out issues with course conditions, such as overgrown areas and unclear signage. While many enjoy the casual and inclusive environment, a few have experienced less favorable interactions with staff and found the course maintenance lacking at times.

Metchosin is a great facility in the Westshore. It’s an awesome place to book a tournament, join the ladies league, or even just come out for a date and play “nine and dine.” You can tee it up with some buddies on the weekend, then stick around for a drink after your round. If you’re really into golf, becoming a member is a great option too. They offer something for everyone and one of the biggest bonuses is the amazing staff. Wonderful atmosphere.

This course advertises 18 holes however it is only 9 that you play twice. The course is in extremely poor condition. Tee boxes are unidentifiable, not groomed and overgrown. The tee box markers to identify distance were hidden in overgrown grass. Drainage system is non-existent with sand bunkers filled with water and flooded fairways. Management was quite challenging to work and communicate with. We won't go back to this course and urge golfers to be careful of their step.

Absolutely over the moon with this golf course, rolling hills, descent challenging holes. The gentleman at the front was super friendly and professional, even threw in a couple of freebies to the game. I definitely recommend a cart if you have mobility issues, like I said you’ll get your fair share of walk on course going for the ball… no need to over do it. The course was a wee bit dry, but to be expected after the heat wave… we met some lovely Island people (all very friendly). Thank you “Big Trev” the beers were mighty refreshing and hit the spot!

Good place for beginners who want to go out and try out the field. The course is not perfectly maintained but it's challenging and fun to play. There are some tournament days but the early afternoon seems to be always available.

Had a great day. The course was well maintained, and the greens are quite difficult. The bugs and mosquitoes were very bad when we started at 815. The first round of 9 we didn't use bug spray and we were eaten alive. Sprayed up for the service round and no issues. The service at the front could be friendlier, the staff were grouchy and not at all talkative. The Pete cart was very slow. In saying all that, the fairways are wide and the distances are long. A good little 9 hole course that we played 2 times to make 18 holes. I would play there again.

My group was having a great time on the course, and as someone new to golf, I appreciated the relaxed atmosphere... until the 8th hole, when we were confronted by the players assistant, Steve. He approached us heated, claiming we were taking too long, saying, "It's a 2-hour time slot, not an all-day thing," while pointing to a group that wasn’t even directly ahead of us. We absolutely understand the importance of pace-of-play and were mindful not to hold anyone up. Ironically, we ended up just 15 minutes over our time (would have been less if Steve hadn’t insisted on extending the conversatio…

Metchosin golf course, very good experience again. Greens in great shape, lots of runout on fairways, not too busy. Mosquitoes a bit of an issue but they supply bug stuff so all good. We had a great time, can’t wait to play again. Oh, and rates are good, so thank you very much, cudos to Dan and his crew.

Friendly staff, greens usually very good, daisies can occasionally make fairways a bit tougher than they need to be, but not too bad. Beer great, food not so much these days. Good value.

First time I went here I fell in love with the layout. Pace of play was great and the big guy Trev behind the desk was as friendly a guy I've ever met, got me out in no time. Greens were 5/5. Can't wait to go back

First time in my life I have walked off a golf course mid-play. 3rd tee box had no markings at all, fairway was worse than most roughs, mucky course with daisy flowers everywhere. Saw exactly where my shot landed, but it sunk into the muck in a daisy field and I wasn’t able to find it. 4th hole tee box is completely gone, just mud churned up by a heavy machine with no signage telling players what to do. I tried to tee off from a moss patch next to the path, when I started to walk up I saw that there was a mat to tee-off from behind the tee-box that you can’t see from above. 5th hole I hit o…
