In summary

Middlefield Village Golf Course is appreciated for its well-maintained greens, affordability, and friendly atmosphere, with significant improvements noted under new management. The course offers a variety of holes and is generally considered enjoyable, despite some noise from the nearby highway. However, recurring criticisms include issues with customer service, particularly regarding pace of play management and staff interactions, which some find unprofessional and discouraging.

This is a beautiful and challenging course with surprisingly low green fees. The only complaint is that most of the course is loud because it is bisected by an interstate highway. But it's delightful otherwise.

Owned by the city, care for the consumer is not important. Course and grounds are 3 star decent. No carts after 1pm is a fail. Speed of play is poorly managed. Poor customer service, poor communication from staff. No warm up range.

Well-maintained, laid-back course with surprisingly good greens. Cheap in the winter and with twilight rates. In the peak season, it can get pretty busy, especially during preferred times for senior golfers (there is a 55+ mobile home park adjacent). The ice storm in 2024 took out a number of trees and the course is now significantly more open and thus easier than it was in the past, though it still has a few tough holes (the two long par 3s especially).

It’s wild to see what this course could be. It has a lot of potential. The potential unfortunately ends with the staff that are customer facing. Took 2 days to get a call back from them. Called multiple times. Figured I would give them another chance, the online tee time system works when it wants to…but again trying to call and schedule a tee time seems fruitless, guess I’m not playing here. Lol this is a golf course in cottage grove after all. I guess it’s time to temper expectations

Middlefield Golf Course had a bit of a confusing layout, but the golfing was fun overall and the course was well-kempt. However the manager was extremely rude to my group when we were renting our gear and carts. We then were repeatedly rushed by employees that the manager had sent out to us, only to later get stuck waiting behind another group. I don't think I'll be coming back to Middlefield anytime soon.

I agree with you Nick. We went to go have fun but instead was hurried and harassed to the point where I wanted to drive the golf cart right up nevermind I will drop it. I did not know you had to be a professional to play there. The woman in the clubhouse you did great you was friendly and helpful. the manager you might take a chill pill before you have a stroke.

I like this course alot. There are some decent par 4's and 1 pretty challenging par 5. A little variety of everything and offers the affordability of golfing at a nicer course. The only complaint i have, and it's not even truly a complaint, is that the clubhouse pro shop is wayyyyy behind times. They have like 4 pairs of shoes for sale, no swag, and a very slender selection of any sort of gear. Like I said, not REALLY a complaint. I buy online anyway. The course is fantastic, the fairway is well kept and the greens are fast. I will keep golfing here.

This is a beautiful, well maintained, friendly course to play. Expect a somewhat noisy round because of the proximity to the highway. But the course layout is nice, not overly challenging, with some beautiful mature trees. And they have great clean bathrooms both at the clubhouse and out on the W side of the course, accessible by a code which needs to be obtained at check-in. Hotdogs, beer and snacks available at reasonable prices, and an outdoor seating area where you can rest briefly at the turn if needed. This course will be a go-to for us, living in Creswell.

Have been going their past 5 years. Most Thursdays during April - October. Typically happy with all the services except at a recent visit which ended our time going there. We lost our tee time to a single walker then had people behind us almost immediately our rate of play was 12-15min for a foursome per hole. First time ever we were told to speed up and we were taking to long on a green. They could not state the course rate of play. Nor did anyone request or push us to offer a play through. The people behind us, on other courses, would have been paired up to keep the flow. This is a muni cour…
