In summary

Midland Valley Country Club is appreciated for its reasonable pricing, friendly staff, and ongoing improvements under new ownership, with new carts and a well-regarded bar and restaurant. The course layout and amenities like the driving range and tavern receive positive feedback. However, some visitors have noted issues with the pace of play, inconsistent greens, and maintenance challenges, which have impacted the overall experience for some golfers.

This place had a bad reputation in the past. But its actually probably one of the better courses. Brand new carts and gps, brand new bar area, greens are pretty hard though. But if you want easy, putt putt is always an option. Fairways in decent shape. Price is lower than most. The only thing bad about this course is there is no Marshall. Or if there is, he not doing anything. We had a 2-some holding up the whole course. They hit and drop until they liked there hit. Insane

I had a great time. Seriously. The tee boxes were in good shape, the fairways better than average and the greens were a bit ragged in places but for $30 midweek, it was good. Let's be clear, it's not Sage or Palmetto, but was good for the price. One huge plus, all the carts are new. That's a huge plus.

Course is fine the staff is excellent. Our league moved there while our course was punched. I found it challenging and fun. Full service bar.

Course is in decent shape. Pace of play is the worst in the area. Big reason is the undulating greens, which is fine, but the pin placements always right on the undulation so people are 4 putting…balls roll clear off the green etc..makes for some long rounds

This course is reasonably priced...however not the best of conditions... it is a public couse with no dress attire restrictions..so theres that... THEY CHOOSE WHAT TIME THEY WANT TO CLOSE... SO IF YOU WANT A CART TO PLAY...CALL AND SEE IF THEYRE OPEN. A tee time is still recommended for weekends, no starters for this course. This is a long course w/water on the front 9. My son, & myself prefer teeing off in the evenings this time of year...there is a drink machine on the front & one on the back...i still suggest TAKE PLENTY WATER....it can be pretty slow paced.

I've heard various stories about times in the past when this place wasn't doing very well but as my first time playing here, I liked it much better than expected. The course was in pretty good shape, probably as good as anywhere else I've played, price was reasonable, they have a putting/chipping green, driving range, and the bar/restaurant was pretty good. We had a couple Trops on tap afterwards and I heard the food is good too. We'll definitely play here again soon.

The course is generally in good shape. The greens, fairways, and tee boxes are all good. The cart paths leave a bit to be desired. General maintenance and upkeep is lacking. However, overall it is a good value for the fees.

Play here often, pretty good course. The greens are tricky - some are fast some are slow! Good bunker locations all around the course.

Excellent grass driving range, friendly staff, beautiful setting in the tall pines. Couldn’t play a round this trip but want to when we come back

I love golfing at MVGC, I golf here as much as possible. The course has a great lay out for walking or riding, and the staff are all fantastic and friendly.

Course is coming around after the new owners took over. New owners are putting in the effort needed to get this course back to its glory days. It’s not an easy feat when you get a course in the shape that they received this one. So my reason for 5 stars is I see the effort they are putting in and how they made great improvements to the condition of the course. It takes time to rebuild the course I say in the next year or so this will be one of the best looking courses in South Carolina.
