In summary

Aiken Golf Club is widely praised for its historic charm, well-maintained course, and strategic layout that offers a fun and challenging experience despite its shorter length. The staff is noted for their exceptional service, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. While the course is appreciated for its unique design and character, some visitors mention the lack of a driving range and occasional noise from nearby roads as minor drawbacks.

I played Aiken Golf Club back in October and really enjoyed it. I've played there over 25 times since retiring to Aiken. I found it to be in the best condition I've seen it over the years, and that prompted me to take a few pics to share the experience. Don't let the short yardage deceive you - 5755 yds from the tips, Par 70. With five par 3s and only three par 5s, you will find it feels longer than the indicated yardage. Throw in some tricky greens and it presents a nice challenge!

Amazing experience to say the least! What a wonderful experience. miss this public golf course if you're in the area! for a course under 6,000 from the tips, it can really bite you! The train tracks adjacent to the course were so unique. sometimes they felt 50 ft below me and other times 50 ft above me! it was a fun walk The stone and rock accents around the course where all great touches to this truly historic course! I would highly recommend it to anyone and I certainly will be back next time I'm in the area. kudos to everyone involved here! What a treat

This course is over 100 years old and has some cool history. It’s not the longest course, but it’s fun. 4 beers for $10 cash is a steal too. Fore!!!

Don’t play during Masters Week as it is extremely overpriced and they have no rain checks or refunds for hazardous weather. The course is super old school and had a great vibe but for $175 during masters week, this is not worth it. At best is a $50-$75. Also when torrential rains came and the greens became flooded, the pro shop just shrugged their shoulders and had no answer. Sounds like taking advantage of out of town guests. However if u have good weather and it’s around $50 Bucks or so then it’s a good play.

Beautiful Donald Ross design. Short but challenging. Pace of play was right at four hours in the middle of the day on a Saturday. Loved the Pinehurst like waste areas, tough to read greens and challenging decisions on nearly every hole. Great experience!

I recently had the pleasure of playing The Aiken Golf Club and it was one of those rounds where you leave the property genuinely impressed. This is not your typical modern, cookie-cutter layout — it’s a living piece of golf history with charm and character on every hole. Arrival & Atmosphere Tucked just off downtown Aiken, the club has an unpretentious, old-world feel from the moment you drive in. There’s no sprawling gatehouse or over-the-top entry; instead, you get a warm welcome and a sense that you’ve stepped into a classic, member-friendly club. Staff in the pro shop were genuinely hospi…

First class all the way around. Jordan in the golf shop is fantastic. Jim McNair is awesome. The best true public golf course in the state, we drive from Columbia to Aiken because it’s just that good.

What Aiken Golf Club lacks in conditioning...it more than makes up for in character. There is serious movement in the land and the narrow fairways and greens are a substantial defense against the lack of distance. You will not be blown away by the presentation of the course...but you WILL remember your round...and that makes it worth it.

Played here 4 weeks ago while traveling, course was in great shape and everyone was super nice. Once I got back home and checked my golf bag a few weeks later I noticed that my rangefinder was missing. Called the Pro Shop and spoke to Jordan, he said that they had my rangefinder and I asked if he would possibly ship it to me since I live in Georgia! He agreed with no questions asked and shipped it to me, he went above and beyond when he didn’t have to due to my irresponsibility keeping up with it!

If you love golf and appreciate it's history, you need to play here! This is the Fenway Park/Wrigley Field of Golf. Course is Beautiful and we'll maintained 👌. They have kept it's historical character all the way through 18 holes, and I loved playing here.

Terrifically fun golf course. First, the negatives; no driving range, road noise from a nearby highway on the middle holes, and people who drive 300 yards will probably not hit driver on most holes. The course is short but not without defense. Fairways are sometimes narrow. Bermuda rough can be thick and deep. But the main defense is severely sloping, fast greens. This is a more than 100 year old course and every part of the course feels like a celebration of all that history; Waste bunkers, trees that come into play and must be as old as the course, 9 holes out and 9 back in, stonework and bu…
