I AM POSTING THIS REVIEW FOR SOMEONE ELSE THAT HAS SEEN SOME OF THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS BEING POSTED. Houndslake Country is a Country Club/Golf Course not a “playgournd” or “city park”. Golf Rules apply at all times. Pace of play should be respected at all times, which is, 2 hours for 9 holes and 4 hours for 18 holes. Don’t spoil other golfers’ rounds. Groups cannot choose which 9 holes they want to play when there are Tee Times on the books. Rules are put in place for a reason and need to be followed. Everyone pays for cart seats, even if not playing. Cart fees are used to maintain the carts and…

First of all the course is in terrible shape. Reminds me of Indian Trail before it closed. The fairways are terrible, tee boxes feel like concrete, bunkers need major attention, drainage needs addressing. The greens were not terrible. Harnessed by the course Marshall a couple times for slow play, but weren’t holding up anyone. Made the turn and slow customer service was met with you guys need to get to it. Well if you hadn’t taken 15 minutes to ring up a couple drinks we would have been on our way. The price for a round of golf does not equate to the quality of the course. Will definitely not…

The course layout is pretty nice, with many challenging holes. Unfortunately the conditions leave a lot to be desired. And the cart paths are terrible. They do have a nice clubhouse with many room options for large or small groups and parties.

Houndslake Country Club is absolutely beautiful. It has stunning views of lakes and mature trees, as well as incredibly manicured lawns. The golf course was challenging, but also appropriate for those who may be new to the game. The hills create a feeling of seclusion, but the location couldn't be more convenient. The golf carts are newer and very well maintained, and the price to play honestly feels like a steal. The water coolers at the tees were very clean, and the water was fresh and cold. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. My husband and I are planning our next visit already!

Called 1/15/26 to schedule a tee time was informed about a frost delay then was scheduled for 10:30 am tee time get to the course and was greeted by a rude older gentleman that told us he didn’t care what we were told they where closed till 12 have a good day. If your golfing here read the reviews before hand the course is a 2 out of 10 spend your money elsewhere!

We won’t be coming back here for multiple reasons. My husband went to play golf and I came along to ride like I always do and they wanted to charge me even though I’m not playing. Definitely price gouging, and then the guy at the front desk also wanted to make a snarly comment about my husband’s shirt. Not a family friendly course at all! Also, just to mention it’s uncomfortable when someone that works there follows you around on the golf course as if you are a kid. Do not recommend! There are plenty of other nice golf courses around.

This place shouldn’t be opened. The bunkers are overgrown, tee boxes grass is same height as ball on your tee, fairways are patchy and greens are fluffy and as you’d imagine, slow. They need a buyer to refurbish and pump some much needed money into this course.

Old man Mike has always been rude and disrespectful the other day we went out there to play the back 9 just get a few holes in and that’s what we paid for at the front desk, he came by in the middle of us teeing up and said we need to go to the front and said he doesn’t care about what we paid for at the front desk saying he has people finna turn in just a real disrespectful way so we went to the front 9 and sat at the first tee and it took 10 minutes for someone to even start heading to hole 10 and it was just two of us , I love the course and there’s many workers there who are as nice and we…

This course has a nice design with varied terrain giving many uphill or downhill lies. The hole in the picture is a big downhill from the tee box with the fairway funneling around the lake at the bottom. The head pro and staff are always friendly.

How unfortunate it is to write this review, yet I believe something must be said. The past few times we’ve played we are consistently bothered about something from people running the course due to no fault of our own. We have played at houndslake for years without an issue and it being the preferred golf course. Coming from a family that grew up on the golf course, this seemingly is no longer something you can do without an issue; which is sad now that I have a family of my own. Knowing golf course etiquette is something that has been instilled in us yet we are treated like we are “kids” as gr…

I would like to give it more stars but just can't. I really like the layout/geography. The greens are ok. But the fairways and tee boxes need help.

Beautiful grounds, extremely beautiful Olympic size pool with plenty of chairs and tables and loungers. Surrounded by Pine trees, its just so relaxing. Golf course is beautifully kept. The Inn is wonderful and unfortunately didn't experience the Grill or see the Pro shop.
