In summary

Mill Woods Golf Club is appreciated for its well-maintained greens and fairways, friendly staff, and convenient urban location. Golfers find the course suitable for various skill levels, with some noting recent improvements in bunker management that enhance the pace of play. However, there are occasional concerns about the handling of delays and interactions with marshals, as well as some inconsistencies in communication regarding course conditions.

Mill Woods Golf Course Beautiful autumn day, and with most city courses closing in a few days, I got a last-minute invite and said, why not. I haven’t played here often over the years, but it’s easy to get to right off the Whitemud and always feels welcoming. The guy sending us out read off quite a bit of rules, but we were only interested in the one rule today, which was sunshine and have fun. Maybe that’s two rules. Of note the cart comes with cell phone holders so that you can place your cell phone up and have the GPS tell you where you’re going. What’s noticeably missing club cleaners, an…

Golfed here with a buddy this week and the course is in great shape. The fairways are surprisingly green and the greens are smooth and fast. Friendly service but no beverage carts driving around, there's one parked halfway into the front nine and at the midpoint.

Played here today and had a fantastic time. Great course for a beginner golfer like myself. Course was in good condition overall. Greens were bumpy in some spots from being punched. I liked that we got a small 150 yard hole, because the 16th was unplayable due to construction. I can’t wait to play here again and I look forward to it.

Played: October 1, 2025 Mill Woods Golf Course has long been one of my favourite courses in Edmonton to play. I don’t play it often, but I do enjoy it. However, I am not too impressed with what the management has been doing to the course over the past few years. I remember when the course opened in the late '80s and it was wonderful having another public course added to the few that existed at the time. Playing it was a pleasure, as it was a much better design, more challenging than most of the other public and semi-private courses around. They had some really challenging holes, with water haz…

In my opinion, the marshal misrepresented the no trespassing sign situation and didn’t seem aware of their placement. He told me the entire hill was golf course property, yet the signs are at the bottom of the hill. If they really owned the hill, in my view the signs should be at the top, not the bottom. He never introduced himself, and threatened to escalate or call the cops before even asking me to leave. He said “I was going to be nice” but then was completely rude, and accused me of having an attitude when I was ready to leave immediately. I was dumbfounded and awestruck, nobody has been t…

Hands down best staff! Tyler and staff are amazing! Course is a beast! Such well maintained course, greens are evil! Was running around 12 when we played! We will play here again definitely! Thank you Tyler and Milly staff!

Really enjoyed the course. It's in great shape. Really liked that the course had stationary resentments, and you didn't have to wait or get missed by the beverage cart being slow or hitting you at the turn after you loaded up already. Greens were just punched, so that wasn't awesome, but that's really the only negative of a great round!

Was not notified of a 1 hour frost delay in the morning, pushing everyone's tee time back. They said an email was sent out, but nobody in my group received one until after we checked in and told them about it. I asked for a free bucket of range balls while my group waited, since there was no notification. They said "No". I reminded them it didn't cost them anything, "No, we don't give anything away for free". Bought a bucket of range balls, talked to half a dozen people who also received no notice. Even a "sorry" would have gone a long way.

In early season condition, the recent rain has improved the fairways but still some bare areas but not much warm weather yet. Played in 4.5 hrs on a Friday afternoon which was a decent time to play. Staff in pro shop helpful and friendly. Had a buffet meal served in the Tournament Room. Nicely presented and enjoyed by entire group.

Nice urban golf course that made the best of the area to build a golf course. There was a frost delay when I played and they communicated very well about the delay and efficiently allowed groups to play. The course was also in great shape for October.

The best conditioned course in the city with by far the best greens. Absolutely would recommend playing here if you haven’t already.

Marshall kinda ruined the outing here. He came up as we were waiting for the team in front and told us to pick up the pace. The group in front of us was on the green and there wasn’t anyone on the two holes behind us. He seemed to go from one group to the next of our work group harassing them from hole 3-8. Greens were generally not bad, fringes were usually pretty rough. Not worth the headache. Food was good though.
