In summary

Monarch Beach Golf Links is frequently praised for its stunning ocean views, well-maintained course, and exceptional staff service, creating a memorable golfing experience. The course layout is both beautiful and challenging, with notable amenities, although some visitors mention the lack of a driving range and occasional slow pace of play. While most experiences are positive, there are isolated reports of negative interactions with staff and issues with player etiquette.

The grand and splendid entrance, the valet's warm greeting, the well-maintained fairway and green, the beautiful ocean view - especially the view from the 3rd hole -, the detailed facility usage instructions and warm words from the person in charge at the starting point were great, and the sunset in the afternoon was really beautiful. The pride of the local resident members in their golf course was also impressive.

Beautiful and challenging golf course. The staffs were awesome from pro shop valet to first tee. The only downside is that there wasn't any driving range but other than that, everything was perfect. I'm surprised that the course condition was much better than trump national, which is way $$$. I'll definitely come back

The course had a great view, especially the ocean views on the first nine holes. However, the younger, tall, and skinny guy in the pro shop was very rude and disrespectful. He found out we had booked for nine holes and insisted that we only play nine. He warned us that we could be kicked out if we played more. I’m not sure where this kind of discrimination is coming from, maybe race? Before we started, I heard him using his headset to ask another guy to keep an eye on us. He did so during our play, and the guy showed up multiple times to ask us to make sure we only played nine holes. I don’t…

I’ve played all across the country in Monarch Beach has to be close to the top of the list. The facilities were immaculate. The staff was incredible from the pro shop manager, helping me find my size of shirt to the bag staff getting us set up on our carts. The service was amazing. The golf course itself was pristine and offered both challenges and opportunities to score. The back nine was so pretty and fun to play on the ocean. I highly recommend this and if I’m back in Southern California, I will definitely be back to play Monarch again!

About a two-hour drive from LA, this resort golf course is part of a beautiful resort setting. Along the way, you might see joggers passing by, and on several holes you tee off and hit your second shot with the ocean in view. One short left dogleg par 4, where you have to keep your tee shot under 200 yards, remains one of the most memorable holes in my mind.

A friend and I played on Aug 5th. We were both looking forward to the round for weeks, and the experience didn’t disappoint! The course was pure and the staff and amenities were first class. We tee off at 12:10 pm and finished in 4:03, which was incredible. Can’t wait for my next visit ⛳️🌊☀️ 🏁

I very badly wanted to give this place 5 stars. The course is beautiful and kept in great condition. The pro shop is first class. The reason for the 1 star deduction is it legit took 6 hours for a round and there’s no driving range just a “hitting cage” and some practice greens. For all the talk online on “keep your round under 4.5 hours” … it’s legit posted everywhere online and at the course, 6 hours is a brutal pace, I don’t care how nice the course is. It’s likely because it’s a resort course but I’ve played a few now and no day has ever been longer. Other than that, it’s a nice location f…

These guys couldn’t have been nicer. A great price, including renting clubs and having me just drive the cart. My son had a lot of fun on this challenging, and very well maintained course! We didn’t play the ocean view 9, but the ducks, hazards and water features made it all a fun challenge!

My family and I made the trip during the holidays to play this course. We got unlucky and ran into some very bad weather. While we played the round, it was not up to standards and cut our visit short. I do have to compliment the greens keepers as the conditions of the greens in terrible weather were amazing. Having been made aware of our challenging round, Michael, Head Pro quickly stepped in and made us feel taken care of. Although this particular round was not enjoyable (weather), we very much look forward to our next family golf trip in the near future. I am looking forward to enjoying this…
