What People Say

In summary

Mountain View Golf Resort is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, scenic views, and friendly staff, with many visitors appreciating the challenging layout and variety of amenities, including a driving range and practice greens. The venue is also commended for hosting events and providing quality dining experiences. However, some guests have reported negative experiences with staff professionalism and course management, particularly during events, and there are occasional concerns about the speed and slope of the greens.

Not the hardest course out there, but with challenge enough and moderate green speeds/undulations. Great condition( especially after wet weeks), amenities (chipping green, putting green, driving range, though driving range is bit short, maybe 220 yds). Good elevation changes and some dog legs. Good pace of play. Will be back!

Nothing like it was before hotel went in. More expensive and less choices

Great food and friendly service. We sat out on the deck and enjoyed the beautiful view while kicking back on a nice Friday evening. Nice selection of local brews on tap, and something for everyone on the menu. Prices are fair, and MJ loved the fish and chips. I noticed the specials board on the way out said Tuesdays are burger night - definitely going back again in the future!

Nice, well kept course. Pretty laid-back establishment, makes for some good times. This is probably one of the most scenic courses in Centre County and a course with a good variety of challenges. On a side note, the food here is surprisingly affordable and rather good. So much so, that if I was a local I would consider this a place to dine.

Staff treated us terribly. Booked and paid for 18 then got kicked off after the 9th hole. Course condition was poor and highly recommend staying away from this course.

We had our wedding reception here and we loved every second of it! It was beautiful and the staff was very professional. Nichole and her team worked through every single detail with us and everything turned out perfect! They made planning easy!

We booked an event for this venue for our entire team of over 50. Up until the day we arrived everything was good. Once on the golf course we were treated terribly by the staff especially the guy in charge of the Pro Shop and managing the course. The unprofessionalism and down right rude attitude towards our team was the worst we have ever been treated. The sales team at the hotel was also not someone who wanted to hear or took the criticism for their golf course staff seriously. Instead we were blamed and told we did not own the course. I would not recommend this place for anyone especially p…

Where to start with this course, excellent. Starting with the fact that we played on Memorial Day and it was only $40 to play was an absolutely great, this course was a great value for $40! Secondly, the course was in excellent shape and the greens were rolling smooth and very fast; after playing 3 days in wet weather, fast and fairly dry greens were excellent! Couldn't be happier with the shape of the tees, fairways (even though I was only in probably half of them) and the greens. Even the bunkers were in pretty great shape! Bottom line: if you're in the area and trying to play some golf, thi…

Friendly and attentive staff. Nice view of the sunset on the patio. Appetizers were tasty, entrees were a let down. Overall the prices were average to high for state college for the portions and quality you're getting. Wings were very good, nice and crispy but not over cooked, with a good sauce. Pizza was alright, not very crispy. Steak was ordered rare, but came out black and bleu instead, second one unfortunately came out well done, but fortunately not dry. The mushroom demiglace on the steak was a let down, basically just a lumpy, thin gravy thickened with cornstarch. We'll probably wait to…

Absolutely terrible. Course management sucked and after paying and booking for 18 we got kicked off after 9 holes because we had a 4:00 tee time. Pro shop guy wouldn’t even have a conversation and walked away from us after kicking us off. Disgraceful. Do not play here.

That bartender Cooper is so amazing. What an experience. Excellent drinks like they were poured from Valhalla itself. The food was super tasty and dang that manager is very cute. Loved it i would definitely recommend visiting.
