In summary

Muskoka Highlands Golf Course is highly praised for its well-maintained greens, friendly staff, and welcoming atmosphere, with the unique feature of allowing dogs on the course. Many appreciate the scenic layout and the overall enjoyable golfing experience. However, some visitors have noted issues with cart availability and the course being challenging to walk without a cart, as well as occasional dry fairways during hot weather.

Wife and I did 18 holes today and had a great time. Booked with ease and staff was very accommodating (we were 5 minutes late). Pace was kept up very well with people behind and infornt of us. We never felt rushed and people were very kind. If you walk during your regular golf, be prepared for hills and valleys. It's best to have a cart if you are just starting out or have issues with lots of walking. Carts had screens to give you distance to the hole, even while you were driving it calculated for you. Greens were kept beautifully. Considering the hot summer we had, the fairways were also qu…

Not only the course is it well-kept and a pleasure to play, but they also allow dogs on the course, something you almost never see. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The pro shop woman gave us an extra cart at no charge so our two dogs could ride along more comfortably. We’ll definitely return!

We were in Muskoka for vacation and wanted to experience golfing in Muskoka. We didn't reserve a cart when booking a tee time. The staff said there were not enough carts for our group, and our tee time was 8:00 am! The course charged $10 for a rental push cart! However, the staff is polite. When we finished the round, we saw a lot of carts parked. The course is not easy to walk for someone who doesn't golf regularly. The green fee for two plus two push carts was $188. The green condition was okay, but the tee blocks were horrible. The fairways were really dry. I feel it was way overpriced for…

The BEST course in Muskoka. The staff are AMAZING and they allow dogs!!! Negative reviews that the grass isn’t green enough, but it was literally snowing in Muskoka a week ago. It's been a cold spring. I play here every year and know how incredible this course looks when the weather fully turns around. So happy we finally got some warm weather and could get out and play again. Made my long weekend!! Don't skip the transfusion drinks!

The environment is always so nice at Highlands. The staff are so pleasant and you can feel the family vibe when you’re around the course. Being able to bring my dog to this course the last two years has been so amazing too. Such a great place to train him and let him run free. I don’t really know anyone to golf with around here but have always found some great guys willing to let me join their groups. It’s a shorter course with great greens and I’ve certainly made it my second home. Always looking forward to my next round. Probably some of the best sunsets around too.

You can’t beat the feeling of family at this course . Great staff greet you with a friendly vibe that gets you ready for your round . Putting green and driving range is a big bonus to work on your game. Course is a great test with amazing greens and ability from any tee deck .!

A great little 18 hole course in Bracebridge. Challenging but still manageable as a beginner golfer. I loved that every hole was named after a guide dog that the owners had fostered!! A great dog friendly course!

We took our family who had come over from Australia for a round of golf along with our golden retriever Joey. We had a fantastic time, great course, challenging but fun!

My favourite course to golf! I love the open fields, the breezes and wild flowers. The greens and fairways are in excellent shape given how hot and dry it has been. The staff are courteous and accommodating. Take your puppers if you like and golf 9, 12, or 18.

Muskoka is known for its expensive, high end golf courses. I recently played 3 of its mid tier options; Muskoka Highlands, North Granite Ridge and Lake St George. They are all good value and kept in very good condition. Of the 3 courses, Muskoka Highlands had the best conditioned tee boxes and sand traps. The greens putted well and were of moderate speed. It is a fun course, offering a lot of open vistas of the surrounding countryside. Many holes are lined with thick fescue, but the fairways are generous enough so that staying out of fescue is usually not a big problem. The grass on a few of t…
