What People Say

In summary

New Haven Golf Club is appreciated for its enjoyable layout and accommodating staff, with some visitors highlighting the peaceful setting and efforts to improve the grounds. However, there are consistent concerns about the condition of the greens and fairways, as well as issues with tee time management and course maintenance. Some guests have also experienced restrictions on playing 18 holes and encountered unfriendly service.

I've played here a few times and I love the layout. We've played at different times of the year and the greens are pretty hairy sometimes with some disease or winter kill, but overall it's in ok shape usually. The greens could definitely be better though. That said, the staff is always nice, the layout is super fun and the pace of play has always been fast.

Love this course. Typically one of the best maintained in the texarkana area. Very peaceful and a good one to enjoy. -1☆ would like to see some of that tall grass throughout the pine trees "between fairways" knocked down a bit. Also, the cook never showed up during the 4 hours I was last there. Thankfully the counter guy made us some cold dogs. Can't wait for another round.

Decent course I Play every summer here front nine is very easy most players can shoot in low 40s to high 30s back nine is harder but not by much. All in all good course can be rough at times but is mostly good. These photos were taken over the time period of 2-3 years

Do not recommend going to this place. Course wasn't too bad, but we got there at 4pm and they told us we could only pay for 9 holes. They had a sign that said carts back by 725pm (thats wild). At 630 we got done with 9 went to hole 10 and the lady came out hollering that we had to end the round. We offered to pay for 18, she was extremely rude saying that isn't an option "because we started after 330pm". Second time I've gone to this course. First time in late May. They came to us on hole 9 as we were chipping at 7pm and said we needed to return the cart right away do not finish the hole. Will…

Was in town visiting. I usually play the Country Club when I'm in town but they couldn't get me on in the morning so I started looking for public options. Had heard not to try Oak Grove so I came here. Course was in decent shape (for this caliber of course) and the staff was relatively friendly to me, but I could tell it was a good-conditioned day and many of the customer service problems were not going to apply to me, but could apply to your group. 2 qualms with the course. Tee Times were non existent. I was in the third tee time of the morning. There was more than 5 groups ahead of me. No st…

First time golfing on an actual course. Got there later and was not able to play all 18 holes due to time. Front 9 was nice with the exception of some of the fairway being too tall. Overall good experience.

Nice course, but a few greens need some work.

The staff are unfriendly. The course is in bad shape. The staff act like they dont want anyone to golf there. Told me I could only play nine holes at 2:45 because they close at 6:45. That is the dumbest thing ive ever heard. I was playing by myself. I can play 18 holes in 2 hours. I don't think the people working there have ever played golf or understand golf etiquette. I will play golf elsewhere.

This course looks TERRIFIC. Staff is accommodating, food is excellent and Top Tracer is a great tool and fun to use. They are constantly working to improve grounds and facilities.

Don’t take my word for it though. Go have an atrocious golf experience for yourself. The workers and management of this course are a joke. The course itself… wow. Lack of care is an understatement. Not to mention you can’t play 18 after 1:30 apparently. You also can’t bring your own cooler even if you buy the beverages they provide to stock said cooler. They expect you to take a plastic see through ice bag with ice in it onto the course… all the while melting rapidly and covering your golf bag with water. Then to end the round we were asked at 5:20 to leave the course with two holes left and 4…

I remember playing here before the back 9 was built. The owner Buddy became a friend and teacher since I was just starting out playing back then. I took up playing while working at the Texarkana County Club as a grounds maintenance employee which was one of my favorite jobs I have had over the years. With that said when they added the back 9 I was blessed to be able to play on it the first weekend of it opening. I love the fact that it has grown to be such a wonderful place to play I just wish that I lived closer so I could enjoy it more. Keep up the good work and hope to see yall there soon.
