In summary

North at Hickory Hills Country Club offers a challenging layout with well-maintained greens and notable elevation changes, making it a fun course for many golfers. However, frequent criticisms include the poor condition of the cart paths, inconsistent staff service, and issues with pace of play. Some visitors also find the course to be overpriced given these drawbacks, while others appreciate the ongoing improvements and overall playability.

Save your money and go golf at any other course. The staff here act as if you playing a round of golf there is a major inconvenience to them. The ranger is very rude. I’ve played multiple rounds here with similar experiences and finally decided I will not return. Golf should be fun and relaxing and not worrying about if the staff at the course woke up on the right side of the bed or not.

Who designed these cart paths? I'm already not a huge fan of courses where carts are mandatory, and this course doesn't feel like it should need them that badly. But seriously, why are so many of them right in the middle of the fairways, and so badly maintained? Rest of the course was decent. Some hilariously difficult greens especially with the fall leaves on top of the slopes, the practise green is on a wild slope too which is actually accurate for the course. Good amenities inside, though I felt the hot dog pricing was a little egregious for what it was. Overall a nice day out, but I would…

Golf course has been improving since the spring and now they are adding a new irrigation system. Of course, this means they are doing some work out there , but the course will get even better. The greens and tees are in very good shape, but they have worked on a few greens to repair some spot on the backs of them. Fairways are dry, but I understand its to do with the new irrigation system being installed, so I guess they will water and seed areas that need it when finished. The course has terrain that you wouldn't expect in this area, as nearby courses are flatter, so that adds to the fun. The…

The guy, the got our carts was very rude. He said we were late when we were 15 minutes early picking up our cart . Didn’t want to let us bring in our own waters at 7am , drinks cart wasn’t on the course until 10 AM. Golf carts had to stay on golf path, which was not stated ahead of time golf Path is in disastrous condition And finally, GPS distance on the carts was a way off . Too expensive for the conditions you’re paying for will never play here again.

The good: The course is very well maintained with beautiful greens. The course doesn’t have many hazards, maybe 2 sand traps on the entire thing, but it’s very hilly. It felt like every green was at least 10’ above the fairway. The not so good: the cart path is awful. It’s in desperate need of a full replacing. The tee times are crammed together, we had a 7:04am and they made us tee off at 6:50 and we still had a group right on our tail. I can imagine pace of play gets backed up like crazy. Never once did we see a beverage cart across 18 holes.

So I've golfed at this course for a few years now & the owners are definitely putting a lot of work into this place, every week it's looking better!

I hardly ever write reviews, especially negative ones. This place is a rip off. $80+ for tee times every 6-8 minutes. Horrendous pace of play. Employees weren’t helpful. Had a golfer in front of me drive backwards 50 yards & take my golf ball from center of fairway on 9th hole. When I went up to him in front of club house, he denies and says it’s his ball with an identical business logo and red line through it. Definitely cursing his golf game, but that’s the type of people playing here. I understand it’s not an elite course, but it should not be priced the way it is for overgrown patches of g…

Lost a club 2 Sundays ago, made a few rounds, couldn't find it, and I left my number with the guy at the pro shop. I get a call the next day from them saying they have it and describing it exactly. My buddy made plans to go shoot a round there and pick it up that next weekend, but when he went to get it, they said they didn't have it. Pretty obvious that one of the employees decided to keep it for themselves after all. Now they won't answer my calls or return my message. Overpriced, decent greens.

This course is severely overpriced at over $80 for 18 holes with a cart, especially given the poor conditions. The fairways are swampy, the greens are covered in pitch marks, and the layout is not ideal — with crumbling cart paths running through fairways and trees obstructing approach shots to the green, penalizing well-struck balls. On top of that, there’s little to no signage to guide you. Overall, a disappointing experience for the price.

Great course overall with well-kept greens and a fun layout. Only downside is the fairways are a bit too close together, but aside from that, this place is solid. Definitely worth a round.

None of the employees seem to know what’s going on. Asked for a range bucket, people at the front desk said range doesn’t open till 10am. Then proceeded to say they may be open though, so drive the 5 minutes there and check, shocker it was closed. Cart guys said you can get a small bucket at the check in desk which also wasn’t the case. Putting/chipping green is also on the side of a hill; not a single flat point to actually warm up on. Any course with a similar price would be a better choice

Very fun course with a lot of elevation change and challenging greens! The staff are very helpful. The cart paths need work, which is why I dropped a star. Highly recommended!
