What People Say

In summary

Oak Brook Golf Club is appreciated for its scenic setting, well-maintained fairways, and friendly staff, with amenities like a driving range and a welcoming restaurant. However, some visitors report that the pace of play can be slow, especially during busy times, and the greens are often in poor condition. Additionally, the course layout, while interesting, may lead to congestion and delays, and some feel the course is overpriced given the conditions and overall experience.

What a beautiful golf course!! My friend and I took a weekend getaway to Chicago. We decided we would leave early Saturday and stop to golf on the way down there. I just happened to pick this one (about an hour from where we were staying) and i'm glad I did because it was beautiful! When we got there we ended up being an hour early which was fine because we were both starving from the drive! I got a hot dog which actually was good. It wasn't a cheap one, It was an all beef hot dog. After that we tried out the putting green while we waited for our tee time. It was a HOTT day but we had so much…

Pretty nice conditions overall but some of the greens were pretty beat up. Very slow pace but it was Labor Day weekend so willing to give some grace. Interesting layout with several risk/reward shots.

Oak Brook Golf Club has a great driving range. They have built sheltered bays with high end mats. It is nice to be sheltered from the sun and I am told they will have heaters and so the can stay open I to the winter. I like it best for my irons. I am not a fan of the rubber tees. Some people can get their tees to work with the mats but I am having some trouble with that. They will open some grass spots at the end of August for those who prefer that.

I decided to book a round of golf with my son before taking him back to college. We paired up with a nice couple. When we got to the 11th hole, I was aggressively approached by another golfer accusing me and my son of sneaking on the course. Yelling at us in front of the couple we had been golfing with since the 1st hole. He didn't seem to care that I was driving a golf cart. Shortly thereafter, another golfer approached me asking me if I heard that a father/son snuck on the course. As if that wasn't bad enough, when I got to the clubhouse to report the encounters, I didn't get any kind of apo…

Worst experience in some time. I played 9 holes and had afternoon tee time. The course is overpriced - the tee boxes are a mess and the greens are in horrible shape. It took 3 hours to play 9 holes - two to three groups backed up at the two holes in front of our group. It was so slow I phoned the proshop to suggest they send a Marshal to see what the delay was and I was told there was no Marshall onsite. I will never go back.

It’s just an excellent course. I played there and it beautiful and the service is top notch. I went yesterday to practice. After work times it incredibly busy but they are building new practice bays so I am excited about that. But a free driving range on a beautiful course in Oak Brook? You can’t beat it.

Playednine holes in the evening during a really hot day so it was a little bit cooler. Friendly staff. Added a single to our twosome and had a lot of fun. The third hole runs parallel to 22nd St. and we lost a couple of balls. Hopefully didn’t hit anybody’s car.:) we’ll be back playing there soon.

The layout of the course is fine. The greens are in bad shape as a result of golfers not repairing their marks on the greens. The pin placement on the greens is done in a manner that you are a scratch golfer…so be prepared if you are not a scratch golfer to be doing a lot of 3 and 4 putts. Staff is friendly and the course is scenic….

Great golf course and very challenging. The course is short, but the greens will give you all you can handle.

The course was beautiful and very well kept, and pretty difficult. Much like every golf course though now there's tee time every, what felt like 4 minutes, in reality probably 7 minutes apart. Since golf has never been more popular EVERY golf course is doing this. As a result we had a few back ups into slower groups and waits on the more difficult holes. We also had more than a couple balls being hit into us. My only actual knock is the range. They have a double sided grass driving range which is almost rare nowadays but it's configured in the middle of the course so there were 4 or 5 holes wh…
