Second time within two months that they wouldn't allow me to play alone when golf course was wide open. Both times, they wanted me to wait 30 minutes for the next tee time ... no other groups in between ... so that they could add me to a twosome. Nope. I play very fast and my time is limited. Strange business practice. One green fee vs nothing on a slow day.

Okay, so around four eighty BC, King Leonidas of Sparta led three hundred elite warriors-plus some allies-to Thermopylae to block a massive Persian army under Xerxes. They held a narrow pass for days, using spears and shields like a wall. Persians tried arrows, fire, even elephants-nothing worked. Then a traitor showed the back route, Persians circled 'em. Leonidas dismissed most allies, stayed with his guys and a few thousand others, fought to the end. Total last stand. Spartans went down shouting Molon labe when told to drop weapons. Became legend-defiance, bravery, all that. Want me to dig…

I don’t usually have a lot to say about Oak Mountain golf course but ever since they stopped cutting the rough it’s ridiculous. Yeah I guess I could play better golf but I’m trying, but now the fairways are so narrow. You end up in the rough and then you can’t find your ball. I just watched a foursome spend five minutes looking for three balls Then they ended up taking drops because they couldn’t find them because the rough is so thick out here.

In this comprehensive review, I wish to express my sincere appreciation for the exceptional condition of the golf course. Having had the privilege of playing there on three occasions, each experience has been highly memorable. The fairways are aesthetically pleasing and meticulously maintained, presenting a challenge due to their compactness. The greens are firm yet in excellent condition. The range, despite its slightly awkward setup, offers a convenient option with pre-dispensed range balls, eliminating the need for a machine that dispenses a fixed number of balls. It is designed to accommod…

Kid in the pro shop is a jerk. He charged an 8 year old $35 to ride with his 16 year old brother for 9 holes. Said he was “playing” because he brought a couple chopped down clubs with him. Intimidated the 16 yr old into buying a $90 shirt too because the 8 year old had an athletic shirt with no collar. So, $160 for a 16 year old to play 9 and take his little brother along. This place should be ashamed of itself. I’ve played way nicer places than this goat track for less, and they gave the 8 yo free snacks, tees, and balls instead of charging absorbent fees. Do better Oak Mountain!

The golf course was very nice and well kept. They were extremely busy for a weekday, which shows amazing potential for growth! I was impressed at how flawlessly the staff maintained check-ins and kept players happy with golf cart washing and turnovers.

The staff in the pro shop are always courteous and accommodating. The greens were being redone the last time I played which was disappointing, but this time the entire course was in great shape and a lot of fun to play

Was recently there for a special private event at the pool clubhouse. Everything was perfect! Great food, super clean, and even got to watch the basketball tournament on the tv's. Actually, I met the club owners, the Skinners, who are just awesome!! They ensured everything was just right, and if we needed anything to just let them know. The golf course looks amazing and very well maintained. I look forward to the opportunity to come back and play the course. I would highly recommend visiting the Oak Mountain Golf Club.

The course was in good shape and all employees very helpful. The service inside and outside was great It started with the guy scheduling tee times, ball girls and ladies at the restaurant serving the food. Overall great experience today all around. Thanks, Jason

We played 18 on Nov 29 and we all thoroughly enjoyed the round. The fairways, traps and every other aspect of the course was excellent. Staff was friendly and the beer selection and burgers were great. This is a very challenging course but we will be back!

Course was in good shape, greens need some work. They were super hard, like concrete and fast. Lots of dips and sinking areas in many greens which make it hard to putt.. not ordinary 'breaks' but imagine a 3 foot wide, 1 inch deep circle right in the middle of your putting line. Course has lots of potential. Fairways, sand and tee boxes were in good shape. Just the greens and fringes need some work, hence 3 stars.
