What People Say

In summary

Ocean Acres Country Club is appreciated for its friendly staff, picturesque holes, particularly the 9th and 10th, and the overall enjoyable layout that caters to various skill levels. However, many visitors express concerns about the slow pace of play, course maintenance issues, and pricing, which some feel is not justified by the current conditions. The club's accessibility and improvements over time are noted, but there are calls for better upkeep and management to enhance the golfing experience.

OK public course. Very crowded with amateur golfers hitting into other tight fairways. Very slow pace of play. Fairways not well maintained. Greens not so bad. Pro shop is very friendly. Hole 9 and 10 are very picturesque and best part of the course.

I was expecting a far less enjoyable experience after reading other reviews. But I was relieved and pleasantly surprised how enjoyable this course was. We had a great time and played incredible golf. The only complaint I would have is the pace of play. I noticed a ranger , but never seen him encouraging the group in front to speed it up a bit or even to stop taking 3 additional shots after topping the ball time after time. Overall a fun course , would definitely play here again !

I have played this course many times from 2020 to now. I played this past week and I will say that this course has gotten better each year. The improvements that I have been seeing have really brought Ocean Acres Country club up to a great golfing experience. Last week, the course was in the best shape that I have seen it. I love how easy it is to find a tee time even the day of. Keep up the great work! Like any course, there is some room for improvement. The cart paths could be touched up a bit. With all of that said, I had a great round and its a fun course.

I love playing this course and have made it my new home course. Staff have always been amazing and the prices are reasonable. Only complaint is that the bar closes early on Saturdays (it is still early in the season) and that the pace of play can be a little slow at times. Other than that this is the best course for the money in my area!

Some interesting holes but not a $90 course. The tee boxes had little grass along with some spots on greens. Pace was slow partially because they were mowing around the greens... on a Sunday.

I avoided this course for many years due to bad feedback and reviews. Decided to give it another shot. Overall I was pleasantly surprised by the conditions. Some issues with tee boxes and fairways, but on par or better with comparably priced courses in the area. Other than the 2 water holes, the holes were a little ‘one note’… tree lined with some doglegs…but sufficiently challenging. Pace of play was OK until we ran into a group of 7 which somewhat ruined an otherwise positive experience.

The greens, fairways & rough are in decent shape…the cart paths are a disaster…if you aren’t gonna maintain them just take them out

Absolutely worst experience I have ever had golfing. Mid conditions on the course. Took us 3 hours to finish the front 9 and asked for some money back and just go home instead of playing 18 and he said “can’t do that buddy” please don’t go here.

Pace of play? None existent. Fairways? Sand and rocks Greens? Slow as molasses Layout has the potential to be something extraordinary, but lack of upkeep is what’s holding it back. Expensive pricing for a course in weak condition… this course is no more than $20. Hole 10 is the lone highlight in the current state. Would not recommend.

Awful , continue to pay full price just to stand on tee boxes for 20 min, the ranger does not help or push people along , way over priced for subpar experience. Fairway grass it to long , not kept up properly for a course that’s charging almost as much as LBI national which blows this course out of the water. Be prepared to over pay for a 530-6 hour round of golf

very overpriced for what you’re getting. greens are eh. some good some shit. fairway is all different grass and rough is nothing but sand and shards of grass. some holes better then others but all around it’s decent. could be way better maintained. at every hole there’s no sign saying the hole nimber or what the hole is doing and no yardage. 3 stars is definitely a fair score. could even score lower

It was a rough season for golf courses due to unfavorable weather. OA is a nice course with great views and amenities. I hope next season will be kinder to the effort to keep it green.
