What a lovely golf course in the winter. I was able to go Nordic skiing around the perimeter of the course and felt like I was in heaven. The course was extremely clean and parking was easily accessible near the clubhouse. I'm excited to return for more skiing. When the ski season finishes, I'll report back on how the golfing is.

I have always loved playing at Odana but the regulars there treat the course as if it is private and overly complain to the management. Most recently, I was told I was golfing too slowly and management expressed this with a rude tone to my group. We defended ourselves by saying we have been waiting for groups ahead of us the entire time (multiple groups in line to tee off at every hole) and there was no apology. We were the only females on the course and the only people told to golf faster but it was out of our control. Golfers from other groups were also upset as everyone was waiting a long t…

I have been here a few times and the staff is always fantastic. The course is fun. I have a great time every time I play the course.

The place is so poorly managed on the weekends it is not worth playing. We had a fivesome (which should never happen) playing so poorly, that there were 4 groups playing on the 11th hole from the green back to the tee, with another 4 some putting on the 10th green. I know the mayor hates the golf courses, but hire a ranger to manage the pace and hold players accountable so they can learn how to manage their games properly. Or at least hire a manager of some kind. All businesses should respect the hard earned money people spend at them. Odana GC does not do that. 1 hour to play three holes. Rid…

Little expensive for what you get. That being said, greens were in good shape for the majority of the holes, tee boxes were good also. Decently challenging course too. Based on other reviews I thought I was walking onto a dog track, but I was pleasantly surprised.

The best public track in the state. Play it every day and it never gets old. Great staff will get you out in a snap. Great conditions too.

This course is not worth $68 (including cart). The lay-out is just so-so, no eye-catching holes at all, lots of noise from the neighboring expressway. On top of that the greens are JUST TOO FAST. You will fear putting and your score will surely suffer. I admire quality greens but these are off the charts. This is a parkland course with lots of thick trees lining the fairway and you will be lucky to find an errant shot. I suggest Door Creek Golf Course which is way prettier, roomier, more playable, in better condition, and a costs less.

I've played here many times over the last few years, and I've always loved it. Great public course. However, the price gouging in the fall is ridiculous, and the customer service was abysmal. Played the front 9 in 2:20 with a foursum and stopped for a bathroom break. We then asked for food and were shut down and told to GO because we were behind schedule. Definitely come here if you want to pay $65 for 18 and feel like you're doing them a favor to play here.

The course is in pretty good shape for early April. Few other golfers made for a very pleasant and relatively quick round. We played the back nine and I was surprised 15 wasn’t wetter. Really no standing water anywhere. I’ll take that for a Wisconsin spring. Greens are in great shape. Get out and play! No inside seating made us move our post round analysis to nearby Vintage.

My favorite affordable golf course in Madison. I haven’t been to the big name ones because they are ridiculously priced. As a student you can play here for around $12 for 9 holes. The greens are always in good shape and the staff is always friendly. Hard to lose your balls here since it’s so open

Not worth the price. Rude course regulars think they own the course and hate when they’re told it’s public. Don’t waste your time, there are far better courses in and around Madison.

Odana hills has a wonderful winter program for cross country skiing. Rentals are quick, clean, and in good condition! The trails give a variety of options, and even though I was out on a weekend afternoon, it wasn’t too crowded. I would highly recommend skiing as a group activity!
