University Ridge Golf Course

I went classic skiing around the golf course. It had snowed the night before (~3 inches) so the classic track hadn't been set yet. Luckily the previous track was somewhat visible that I could follow. I really enjoyed the hills around the course. I'm excited to ski here again! The front desk staff was nice too. The ski pass was $8 and if you are a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, or are a staff member, you'll receive a $2 discount.

So, for the past 6 years, I've been traveling down to Madison, WI from the Twin Cities, pretty much every month like clockwork for my work. Every year, I've been trying to play University Ridge in Madison and for the past 6 years of trying to play, I was always met with the course either being 100% booked, closed for an event, hosting tournaments or league night. So, for 6 years, I've been trying to play this course, and today, I finally made it happen! And it was worth the persistence and wait! University Ridge is the best Public Course in Southern Wisconsin. It is that way because of the great staff, to the amazing beautiful golf course, and its a challenge but fun as well. Course can play really tough on windy days. The front nine and back nine are quite different. Front nine fairly wide open and back nine you are playing among the trees. High Recommended: I'm a local and I play this course 10-15 times a year.

Awesome golf course. It is well kept together. You can not beat the price. We had so much fun. The greens and fairways are well kept. If you are looking to golf in Wisconsin look no further. University Ridge Golf Course deserves all five stars.

Great landscaping. Wow the AmFam Golf championship was staffed great. The fire pits🔥were going because it's a chilly day. Great cheeseburger 🍔 I had free tickets!

Amazing golf course. What does amazing even mean…? Right? Well here is amazing. Beautiful foliage with a 5 star golf course carved in. The food betrays the course. UW sits on a gold mine of a course but turns out silver. Still is one of Wisconsin’s best 18 hole venues. No lie!!

Got to the turn. Pace of play was awful. Ordered brats at the turn got rushed to the 10th because we were slow. To wait 10 min to tee off on the back. Brought out the wrong food to us on the 10th. Nice course just ran like shit.

Beautiful golf course, impeccable greens. Very playable and scenic. AND delicious cheese curds. Lol

Every town has their “ If you are ever in …. You must eat here, and see that over there”. U Ridge is a staple and is definitely on Madison. Wisconsin’s to do list.

4.5 stars. Played here today for the first time in over a decade. Course was fun and challenging. The rough was very punishing today (I know, just keep it in the fairway) . The practice facility is probably the best I have seen and the staff is awesome as well. Would have gone 5 stars but while it was a fun course and in great shape, it didn’t give me the “OMG I wonder if I have time for another 18” feels.

Great cross country ski trails. The rentals are easy to access and in good condition.

Beautiful golf course within Madison area range. The grounds are well maintained. However, the food only served till 5 pm. At least on Friday that we’ve experienced.
