In summary

Old American Golf Club is widely praised for its well-maintained courses, scenic lake views, and unique design that replicates famous Scottish links-style holes. Visitors frequently commend the friendly staff, excellent practice facilities, and overall golfing experience. Some guests have noted issues such as occasional slow pace of play and higher greens fees, but these do not overshadow the club's reputation as a premier golfing destination.

Been to a few country clubs in Houston, but this one is just different. Once you walk into the clubhouse you realize you are not inside a normal golf shop, but a well organized country club. Course itself was great! Amazing views with Hilly fairways and greens, along with plush grass in the rough and greens. Had the opportunity to play the tribute course, hopefully have a chance to play the other.

Great experience here! My friends and I played the tribute course for the first time here and it was amazing. Great fairways and conditions and greens rolled fast and true. The carts were new and clean stocked with water. Staff was nice and helpful and food was decent. We will definitely be back to try the old American course.

Enjoyable golf course - a preview of what Scotland courses can offer without going across the Pond. Generous landing areas. Course in great condition, besides a couple holes (looks like some irrigation work). Greens looked like they were plugged a couple weeks ago. Would highly recommend.

Shout out to Lauren and Taylor for their amazing work handling events! As a vendor, I appreciated their attention to detail and composure in fast-moving situations. Thanks again for all you and your staff do.

This was a beautiful course from the club house to number 9. I say that because I didn't get to play the back nine which was terrible considering this was my first time playing here. I booked on golf now and there was nothing about the course playing only the front 9. Apparently they were rebuilding the bridges on the back 9. The course was in great shape and played well. It's a Scottish style links course and the holes are designed from famous holes on courses throughout Scotland. Each hole marker tells the history behind the hole. It's wide open course that allows for some fairway misses tha…

Since the shelter in place has taken effect I have come here to walk and be outside while not running into many people keeping social distancing not a problem. This golf course is absolutely stunning right off the lake and very well kept. I am going to be sad when things open back up because the 6.5+ miles I have been walking will turn back into a lovely golf course but I am very much so enjoying it while I can. Hopefully the real walking trail will be open soon where it has been flooded out for the past 3 week.

Today wasn’t the best day for golf, or so I thought. A brisk 50 degree day with overcast skies were quickly forgotten after stepping onto this course! I didn’t know what to expect as I was visiting from out of town and a friend recommended the course. For it having rained the night before and it being mud ball central the course was actually in great condition, so I can only imagine how nice it is in full season. Was not expecting to have the views I did either! Very forgiving links style course as sometimes I need to use TWO fairways to get to a green LOL. From the moment I stepped into…

A standout golf destination in The Colony with 36 holes across two beautifully designed courses — the Scottish-style Tribute and the classic American Old American — that many golfers praise for challenge, scenic lake views and well-kept fairways. Regulars note excellent practice facilities and friendly staff, though greens fees lean toward the higher side.

I had prepaid using the golfnow app. Due to rona, check in has handled outside. The community and surrounding area is on the upper end. Very nice area. The twosome we were paired with were late so we played as a twosome. The course staff did a great job getting everyone teeing off on time, I don't think there was a starter that day but it just went smoothly. Pace of play was a little slow due to the course being full. The Tribute is such a long drive for us, but we've been want to play it. We loved the course and enjoyed the round. The course was in great shape and the overall course had a goo…

The worst course I have played. The worst cart girl. Golf course is in miserable condition. For $200 that they are charging they should at least have a staff that’s more friendly. And for that price at least a cart girl on course. Will never go back to them.

This is a great course if you're a high handicapper like me and want to improve your game (and score). The course takes 18 of the most famous links style holes from some of the most famous courses on the other side of the pond. Most holes have wide open fairways so if you sometimes spray it off the tee you won't be penalized so much. Greens can be difficult to read, with some faster than others and alot of undulations but overall the course is very forgiving and a great course to enjoy golf. The clubhouse is nice and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I will be back if I'm in the area a…

Nice place, nice clubhouse, suitable for a round of golf. Two courses and a few driving ranges and practice area.s. Absolutely beautiful locale in the lakeside peninsula. The service was minimal on a Saturday. The assistants were moves the patrons entirely unfriendly and self absorbed. The view from the top of the clubhouse is amazing. Great place to view the sunset. That said the courses are well maintained and comfortable.
