What People Say

In summary

Old Stone Fort Golf Course is praised for its friendly and welcoming staff, relaxed atmosphere, and affordability, making it an excellent choice for families, beginners, and casual golfers. The scenic setting and the option to play without feeling rushed are appreciated by many visitors. However, some golfers express dissatisfaction with the condition of the greens, noting they are slow and bumpy, and there are occasional concerns about course maintenance and management.

Beautiful location, but if you are going here for a cross country event, give yourself an extra hour for parking and walking to the event. Parking was horrendous. Cars got trapped and boxed in. People were standing around waiting to be able to leave. There is only one way in and out of the lot and it's single car only. Walking to the course from the lot is okay, a very long downhill road, but it's intense to walk back up. There is a small bus for the elderly, etc to ride if needed.

Great place to play golf. Perfect all skill levels but for beginners and families, its a great place to learn and enjoy the game together. If you're looking for the smoothest fastest greens, this probably won't be your cup of tee. However, if you're looking to enjoy the game of golf without the stuffy serious atmosphere and you value the idea thay staff members treat you like family, this is your golf course.

My wife and I enjoy walking this course. Joe and his wife are great. One of our favorite courses for the price. Sure you can find better looking greens but for a much higher price. This is a great course for relaxing and improving your game.

People can find something to complain about anywhere—parking, grass, location, you name it—but for me, the staff and value here easily make this course stand out above the rest. The team is genuinely some of the nicest people I’ve ever met! When you love playing golf, affordability matters. Most courses charge $80 or more per person on weekends, but this one keeps prices reasonable, making it easy to play often. The atmosphere is relaxed—they’re not overly strict about rules, and you can drive on a good portion of the fairways, which adds to the fun. I’ve been really impressed overall and pl…

Played here for the first time in several years. It's a beautiful course. The owners and staff are really nice and want everyone to feel like they can play golf! Kids, new golfers , Seniors-- everyone can play here and not worry about if they are great golfers. Fantastic place to learn! River beside it adds extra beauty!

The staff was super helpful and friendly and there was absolutely no rush whatsoever on the course. Very beginner friendly. You don't have to be very good to play and not feel embarrassed. The greens were not the best but they are trying to get them better. For the price I'd highly recommend it.

Owners and management get an A+ for warmth, friendliness, and helpfulness. The course gets mixed ratings because the fairways are in great shape but the greens are veeeerrrryyy sloooowww and quite bumpy. The scenery around the course is very pretty.

For what it is, it is a good value and a good time. The fairways were in good condition but the greens were another story altogether. For $30 to go around twice it was a great value. Everyone was very nice as well. Putting was an adventure but as long as you are willing to accept that it is a great place to spend an afternoon. Not crowded at all and I played 18 in 2:40.
