In summary

Pakenham Highlands Golf Club is appreciated for its unique 27-hole layout and friendly staff, offering a relaxed atmosphere that welcomes families. However, some visitors express concerns about the course's maintenance, citing dry conditions, rough fairways, and outdated facilities, which they feel do not justify the current pricing. Despite these issues, the course is still favored by some for its affordability and variety, with improvements noted over time.

So I feel like I should start this review by saying the course has so much potential. The layouts not bad. There’s some very nice holes. But I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more unorganized, poorly maintained course in my life. I’m sure somebody will read this and say wow this guys got too much time on his hands. Jokes on you I wrote this waiting to tee off on my tenth hole with 4 other groups that magically appeared at the turn. (Behind a 20 foot hedge that they forgot to cut blocking your view of the entire hole and the other tee box that had all 4 other groups waiting at which we couldn’t se…

A 27 hole gem of a course nestling above Pakenham, with each 9 holes having their own distinct character. The grounds themselves are a little tired but improvements are made each year and the staff are so friendly that we feel like family each time we visit. Most importantly it’s a relaxed place where kids are welcome and we’ll hopefully keep coming back for years.

To be fair there hasn't been rain, but the course was hard and fast. The green were alright. For the price point, it is not worth the money when there are other courses around to choose from. Tough to get club under ball on fairway. The layout at pakenham is not bad except the few holes where u just go down one side and back on the other side . If there was a money game at pakenham, I would have to go back.

Decent layout. Haven't played in a couple years. Used to be around $60 with a cart. Was shocked when it was $90 to play. Fairways were rough. Greens were dry and putts were bouncing. It was in better shape when it was cheaper. Tee boxes dead and unlevel. Very overpriced.

If I had payed 45$ with a cart this review would be different but it was 76$ and these were some of the worst conditions I’ve played. It was like they hadn’t cut the lawns in over a week and they were trying to get it all done yesterday. The t-decks were in horrible condition and around the fringe whoever cut the greens forgot to lift the mower deck and cut deep turn around lines. And they had no food available in the clubhouse

This course used to be great, but it hasn’t kept up. The carts are run down, the conditions are lackluster (pre and post drought), the paths and bridges are crumbling, the few bunkers are in roughy shape. Ten years ago it was a great place to play, but now it feels like it’s fallen behind while other courses have raised their game with the increase in the numbers of golfers/rounds post covid. A little investment and upkeep would go a long way to bringing it back to where it once was.

Great for the price. The greens are usually in great shape and role consistently. Fairways are pretty good too. There’s a few holes that are pretty wet and damp (especially by the rivers in the spring. Food is good, and the staff is very chill. Wish they had a Marshall though because the first tees can be a mess. People kind of tee off on whatever 9 they want which causes confusion for the golfers. Also recommend putting new signage up to figure out where the next holes are. Unless you’re with a member it’s next to impossible to figure out where you’re going. Few times we’ve played there’s…

Greens in excellent shape! Great customer service, and was nice to have my 16 year old son only pay $25 on the weekend. Pricing for food and drink was more than reasonable too! A solid layout with great variety. In terms of bang for the buck, Pakenham was great!

Had a great time. The course was in excellent condition and the greens fast. I just wish I'd had a better description of the holes as a few times was left wondering what we were shooting into. The restaurant in town was also very good. Will go to both again next season, I'm sure more than a couple of times!

Great course, pretty unique layout on the two nines we played, but the grass and general conditions were excellent. Cute clubhouse to boot; worth the drive to play if you haven't!

Could be a great course with some maintenance. Cart paths were really rough and need of filling. Carts were filthy and didnt look like they'd been touched all season. One student sitting on a chair doing nothing. Could have been cleaning. Not a good first impression.
