In summary

Palatine Hills Golf Course is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, challenging layout, and friendly staff, with many visitors appreciating the value for money and additional amenities such as the driving range and practice areas. However, some golfers have expressed frustration with the rangers' management, citing instances of being wrongly accused of slow play, which detracted from their overall experience. Despite these concerns, the course remains a popular choice for many due to its condition and setting.

Friendly staff greeted us at check in. The marshals are really helpful. The course is in really good shape. The only minor gripe is that the greens seemed a hair inconsistent. Some were slower than others. But it’s not enough to ding a star. Great course and we’ll be back again.

They won’t book single players. And will cancel your tee time for no reason last minute.

Staff was polite, and the course was immaculate considering the time of year. Definitely will be back out when it's prime.

Unfortunately just had my worst golf experience at this course. From the second we teed off, the rangers were harassing us about picking up the pace. It was four of us playing a scramble, and I can confidently say we were playing fast. On the front 9, we had a ranger stop by or even watch us play on 5 of the holes. The final time, the ranger said he confused our tee time and realized we were actually ahead of pace. While on the 14th green, an old man walked about 200 yards to us to angrily say we drove the golf cart too close to the green and threatened to ask all of us to leave if we did it…

Overpriced course with incompetent and rude staff. We were playing a two man scramble and were harassed by the ranger 5 of the first 9 holes despite us keeping pace. Finally the 5th time the ranger came over he came to the realization he was tracking the wrong group for not keeping pace. A visit to the clubhouse at the end of our round to provide feedback was given nothing more than a “sorry”. I won’t be back to this course and I will advise others against playing here.

Love the fact in the winter they make it into a dog park. Thank you, my dog loves it.

might be the perfect combination of public golf, fast rounds, private setting and low price and full amenities. You get what you pay for and then some--and the course aint bad either! Way more challenging than in the past, too.

A hidden gem. Located in Palatine right off of Northwest Highway. The course was well maintained with very nice sand traps. Unfortunately I had got a lot of practice hitting out of them. They also have a driving range and very nice chipping and putting greens. Good price for a well maintained 18 whole course.

Course was in great shape. However, the Ranger was totally incompetent. Twice he told us to pick up our pace, even though the closest group was one entire hole behind us.

This was my regular course for years and it’s gone completely downhill. They now close the range on the weekends for “maintenance” but can afford all new golf carts. If it gives you any idea of general popular opinion of this course - there is apparently so little interest in golfing here nowadays that twilight rates on Friday-Sunday start at 2pm! I’ve been here hundreds of times after 7pm practicing and never been forced off the course but now they will try to get you to leave by 8pm or lock you in. If this was a private course I may understand the rules, but this is a public course which is…
