In summary

Nickol Knoll Golf Club is praised for its well-maintained, scenic par 3, 9-hole course that offers a great opportunity to work on short game skills, with beautiful views including the Chicago skyline. The course is considered a good value and is appreciated for its challenging, hilly terrain. However, some visitors have reported issues with unfriendly staff interactions and occasional slow pace of play, which can detract from the overall experience.

This is a nice golf course. Only complaint is the curbs along the cart path. I get it that they do not want the golf carts going onto the grass but when you are using a push cart the curbs are super annoying. Most short courses do not have gas or electric golf carts. Just eliminate those and get rid of the curbs and the course would be perfect.

Called a day ahead to make reservations for 4:30PM with club rentals. Arrived at 3:50PM for a 4:30PM reservation with club rentals. Upon arrival we were told we could not rent clubs because she was leaving at 5PM. Looks like a great course though we did not get to play it.

I am not a golfer but a big fan of Walter Payton and the stories of his legendary workouts. If I were the owner of this place, I would hang a sign on the gate saying Walter Payton was here and sell chachkies. The walking path is paved and a nice hilly challenge.

Great Par 3 Golf Course! Wonderful views throughout and you can even see the Chicago skyline after you tee off on the 6th hole, while walking to the green. Great course for beginners. Inexpensive. Clean and well maintained.

This could’ve easily been a five-star review—if only the chair was still there. How could they remove it? I used to love admiring it—so big, so light blue, so perfect. Bring the chair back!

Great value. Good course is not in the best condition but a great way to work on your short game. Greens and traps are not well kept.

I did not get her name but the staff at around 5:00pm was very mean, no kindness at all. I thought this golf course is family friendly space, I am wrong. They need to train this lady staff for customers.

This is a fun little par 3 course. Nice changes in elevation, well kept up. I enjoyed it, got to work on my short game, a bargain at $10 (senior rate), and a nice walk on one of the last beautiful fall days.

The course is laid out nicely and was very well maintained. Despite significant rain in the past 24 hours everything was well drained and the greens were very fast! The holes are VERY short. This is the shortest par 3 course I have ever played. That makes it perfect for a poor player like me.

Nice par 3 course. Only 1 hole with water, which I avoided but one of our group did not. Pull carts and drive carts are both available. I walked the course and it was very easy.

Most of the time the course is awesome! I can play in about 50 minutes. On Wednesday I have a 10:50 tee time and am on time. Playing behind 2 women who would not let me play through. They than proceed to hit two balls each. I played 4 holes in 40 minutes. I then notice why there is a back up on the course as I leave after only 4 holes. I watch two guys on another tee box hit 3 balls each without a thought. I may have to find another quick place to play in the area where they keep a better eye on the pace when it is more crowded?
