In summary

Pendleton Golf Club receives high praise for its well-maintained course, challenging layout, and friendly staff. Many golfers appreciate the links-style design and the variety of holes that require strategic play. However, some visitors have noted issues with slow golf carts, occasional course maintenance impacting play, and a lack of on-course amenities like restrooms and water stations.

Played course on 31 March 2026. Don't let the brown grass fool you. This course is in great condition. The regulars told me the course is so green during peek season. Course has a great layout with a lot of blind tee shots, dog legs, and a few elevation challenges. Tee boxes are level and cut nicely. Fairways are wide but some have few margin for error. The greens are in immaculate condition. They roll fast!! With some holes having a lot of break. The bunkers are well maintained as well. For practice they have a full size range that looks to be both mat and grass. Also a chipping/putting green…

The course is very open and has some really cool and unique holes. It is a lot of fun to play. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The greens were very bumpy and not in great shape they have a new grounds keeping group who should hopefully get the greens back into good order. The carts are extremely slow. They felt like we had encouraged the cart cart to go and get up hills. For gas carts you shouldn't feel like you can walk faster than them. Once the greens are in good condition the course would be a 4.5 to 5 star. I would recommend going and playing

We had a really great time playing this course. It was conveniently located off 95 and perfect for our road trip. The greens were in great shape and the course was well maintained with plush fairways and tricky greens. We will definitely play here again on our next time passing through!

Wonderful Monday great weather for winter. It was about 45° windy but still the experience was fantastic and the Marshall did a great job of keeping everyone moving along.

Very challenging beautiful course off of Route 1. Just a lot of Housing Development going on at the time I went. The course itself plays like a Links Course. Put the ball in the middle of the Fairway and more often than not you have a challenging lie to contend with. On my visit, even after it rained, the greens are extremely slippery. The rough in the fall was thick and the ball had a tendency to nestledown making it also challenging. The greens were amazing safety boxes were for the most part very good. I wouldn't call this a walkable course there are some large distances between two boxes o…

Good practice area, grass range. Big greens, slow (but it was hot). Place doesn't do water well so be sure there hasn't been any rain the week before. Charged $95 and two of the holes were mat only (turned par 4 into a 3). Most fairways are toast and under repair and many greens were under repair and they were still charging full rate without mentioning it when I booked. Also no restaurant only a grill. When we went in to drink beers after, the beer was warm and they don't give out the Wi-Fi. Kinda like they don't want you there.

I have played this course since it first opened. I love this course but everything that could be wrong happened today from the moment I drove in. They have put some speed bumps in and even slowing down they scraped the bottom of my car. Then when I went to check in, I was having trouble with my Tee Time app because there is poor cell service in the clubhouse. The app wouldn't load enough for it to be redeemed. The price on the Tee Time discount book was $39 and $49. The guy that checked me in said that wasn't correct and that the price was $55. He wouldn't honor what was written and I find it…

Course was beautiful! Gas golf carts Food was good! A little over priced and no military discount on the weekends. Lost a star due to there being no bathrooms on the course.

Pendleton provided amazing hospitality and unique challenge of a course. They accommodated our group of 12 guys and helped get us out together in an orderly fashion. The course was different then anything I’ve ever played. Good drives don’t mean good looks at the hole. I was able to use a variety of clubs and rely on my short game to keep me from falling apart. Was a beautiful course and I highly recommend anyone in the area stop by.

British links in Ladysmith? On a blustery overcast Tuesday, we travelled 30 minutes north of Richmond. As we drove the mile-long driveway, it became clear that Pendleton was serious about golf. On only one hole were houses visible; and the other 17 holes could've been in Troon. The opening par 5 is a grip and rip confidence builder. From there the front nine wind left and right and up and down to the #1 Handicap Ninth. Chicken salad, hot dogs and a Heineken can be called in ahead of your ninth tee. The back nine yields a few more birdie chances than the front: Wider fairways, slightly flatter…

Pendleton is one of those "pure golf" experiences, where it is just you and the course with minimal distractions. It captures the links style feel nicely with pot bunkers and large, complex greens structures. I would not say the course is overly difficult but it requires you to think your way around it and place your shots wisely. The staff has always been very friendly, they have good rates especially in the afternoon, and the course is well maintained throughout the year.
