In summary

The Hollows Golf Club is appreciated for its interesting layout, featuring three unique nine-hole courses that offer a variety of challenges and require strategic play. Many visitors commend the friendly and accommodating staff, as well as the overall value for money. However, some golfers have expressed concerns about maintenance issues, such as greens affected by weather conditions and deteriorating cart paths, and have noted that certain facilities or parts of the course may be under construction or in need of improvement.

Had a great time playing this course. Greens are in recovery, but still had good pace. Would definitely come back to play again. 3 separate 9 hole courses that you can pair to play a full 18.

Interesting lay out but unfortunately the greens were under distress from this year's weather. I wish them well in healing their greens back. Great group of golfers to play with.

Amazing course for the money! Three unique 9 hole courses that play very differently from each other. You will use every club in your bag. One hole you'll use a 7-iron, another hole you'll drop down to a 6-iron for the same shot, same distance, etc... It depends on the winds, the course, and maybe even the "Golf Gods" decided to make the course play a little tougher! Ha ha ha... My best game was today (4/22/19) when I made an incredible "bump 'n run" shot on Lake #6 with a 9-iron from about 20 yards away, and I holed it out for a Birdie! :) I love this course and will be back again and again!

I have been playing golf in this course for 12 years. It is a very quiet yet nice course.

The "Chris Farley" of golf courses. Starts out fun with lots of potential. But after awhile you just know its going to end badly due to poor maintenance. The good: This course has a GREAT layout with many 'risk reward' holes like "Lake 2"- choose how much of the water you want to take on. Wide fairways with not much rough (mostly dirt). Undulating greens that require some concentration but are not unfair. The bad: the proshop staff who lied to me about having 27 holes available. I called & told them I'd like to play all 27. They said "sure". Then arrived to find only 18 were available (red fl…

The only thing keeping me from posting 1 star is the fact that a 6 pack was only 17 bucks and the glizzy was decent. My brother booked this place as we wanted to golf some new courses other than the same private country club we play multiple times a week. In turn we invited a friend from Charlottesville to come along also. We don’t expect any public course to have a private club feel, by any means, but damn folks. I have NEVER golfed anywhere with gravel cart paths for one. That’s wild. The greens are taken over by black fungus, as many this year have been due to the moisture and rain. The…

We had not played at The Hollows for 2 years, and we were so impressed with the improvements they have made since then! From the time we arrived, Tom was very accommodating - go see him in the pro shop, he will get you set! Andy, the owner, and his staff are working hard to make The Hollows a course you want to continually go back to and play!

I booked morning tee times for three 2 Saturdays ago. Upon arriving, we found the parking lot packed. When we checked in at the club house, we were warmly greeted and quickly checked in. We were informed that the weekly golf groups were getting ready to tee off, but because the Hollows has 3 nine hole courses, we were not affected. We played the Road Course and never had to wait on any hole. The tee boxes, fairways, and greens were in great shape. We had a great time as always. The course was fair with a few challenging greens. I'm looking forward to playing the other 18 holes.

I give it 5 stars because truly this place is the most bang for your buck probably in RVA. Three different courses with all unique looks and challenges. Truly a good test for your different shot skills. It’s a very fair course though. You can definitely put good scores down if you play smart and don’t compound any real errors. I’m seriously impressed how they keep costs down for players while keeping the courses so good.
