In summary

Piankatank River Golf Club is highly praised for its well-maintained course, unique and challenging layout, and stunning views, particularly along the river on the back nine. The staff receives consistent commendation for their friendliness and professionalism, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. While the course is noted for its scenic beauty and excellent condition, some players mention challenges with the pace of play and occasional temporary greens, though these do not detract significantly from the overall positive experience.

I've been meaning to take the hour-long drive to Piankatank River Golf Course for several years. Today, I went for it, and this course was worth every penny spent and mile driven! I've played countless courses in VA, NC, TN, and SC - plus, I work at a nationally-ranked golf resort - and this course was probably the most unique layout and overall experience I've ever had. The elevation changes on the front 9 keep things so interesting! And the views of the river on the back 9 are simply breathtaking. And from the moment my buddy and I stepped foot into the parking lot, Brent from the pro shop m…

Was visiting from out of state and had minimal expectations, from check in to completion this course far exceeded what we anticipated. Met the owner in the pro shop and felt at ease immediately and he had some helpful tips on some of the holes, we wished we had listened more carefully in hindsight. The double bogey blues are for real some days. The rest of the staff were friendly and the bar area with a deck overlooking the 18th green almost had a ski lodge type of feel. Will definitely play here again and would refer people as well.

Played PRGC for the second time today, absolutely love this course. It is in excellent shape from tee to green. The greens roll true, not too fast but not too slow. Not only is it in excellent shape but it is a beautiful course and every employee we encountered was super nice. Could not have asked for a better experience!

Lovely, challenging, interesting course nestled along the Piankatank River. 4000-6500 yards. Nice for intermediate to professional golfers, the terrain will not disappoint.

We recently hosted a tournament here on April 13th, and I cannot express enough how fantastic our experience was. From the moment we arrived, John and his incredible team went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect. Their professionalism and dedication truly made our event seamless and enjoyable for all participants. Overall, Piankatank River Golf Course exceeded our expectations in every way possible. If you're looking for a truly exceptional golfing experience in a stunning setting, look no further. I cannot recommend this course highly enough!

I played this course in a golf tournament and the course was in decent conditions and the back side of the course near the water was beautiful, the only problem I occurred while there was the temporary green on 18 which more than likely is resolved. Overall, nice vibe and kind owners!

I played here for the first time recently and must say the course is overall in great shape, with holes 4, 5 and 18 having some of the best grass I’ve played on, public or private. The crew there does a great job maintaining the course. A fun layout, playable but also some challenges. The stretch of 14,15 and 16 on the river is awesome, a great spot with amazing views. Will be playing here more regularly. Top notch course and priced well below what I would expect to pay for a course in the current condition it is in.

Staff were very friendly. Front 9 holes were less friendly. Very challenging but in great shape. The back 9 was like being on a totally different course, more like a links course. I really like this course and if you haven't played it, I think you'll enjoy it. Bring your best putter. It's an acquired taste and difficult to conquer.

Great course to play. Never score well and lose a lot of balls, but the layout is fun, challenging and scenic.

Where to start. I’ve played all over this peninsula and Piankatank has become my new favorite course. No course is perfect, but this one comes damn close. For the majority, the fairways and greens were excellent. I loved the mixture of a hilly set up with occasional wide open flat fairways. Challenging, yet forgiving, I give this course two thumbs up and will definitely be back for more.

Our Non-Profit hosted a Golf Tournament at PRGC Saturday, and we have nothing but wonderful things to say! John and his team went above and beyond for us, and we are so incredibly grateful and thankful! We can't wait for our annual golf tournament next year at PRGC!

Played here yesterday for the first time. It was a beautiful and well-maintained course. The gentleman working at the front desk was very friendly. I ran out of sunscreen and he brought some out of his car to let me use.
