In summary

Piney Woods Country Club is frequently praised for its beautiful and challenging course layout, featuring elevation changes and well-maintained greens. The staff is noted for being friendly and accommodating, and the amenities, including modern golf carts with GPS, enhance the overall experience. However, some visitors mention that the cart paths need maintenance and that the pro shop is limited in its offerings.

I liked the course the greens fairways and tee boxes looked good. The carts was new with the gps data with is very nice to have. They didn’t have a big problem shop so you would need to have all your stuff before you come. They do have some balls to get by if go require some. The con of the course would be the cart path does need some work but it’s not an issue. I would play again

Austin and Shelby are PHENOMENAL! We recently hosted a small gathering in the Lumberjack National game room for my husband’s 40th birthday. The guests really enjoyed the golf lessons via the simulator that were facilitated by Austin. The event space was perfect, everyone was so accommodating, and coordinating the event with Shelby was smooth sailing. This is such a unique venue option, please do not hesitate to reserve the room. Your guests will love it!

It's a fair deal. Course needs some maintenance. It's a pretty course. Some of the greens keepers were busy and others seemed to be loafing. Carts with distance meters were really nice.

Nice course! Fairways a little rough, but perfect greens. Still using the old scorecards (Piney Woods), and no sign out front, but that’s OK. Called all morning but no one answering the phones, so just drove up from Lufkin (30 min) with fingers crossed and was rewarded. Layout very interesting as most holes had lots of elevation, and quite a few doglegs. Very fair, not gimmicky at all. Pro shop staff super friendly and helpful. They don’t have club rentals, but the guys managed to scrounge up a full set of older clubs and a bag and let me borrow them at no cost! Thanks, really enjoyed the ro…

I had a great time here visiting for our company party. Nice pool area, cool mini golf for kids, lots of space for dining at our event.

Horrible business. I had booked a teetime with them but when I arrived they were closed for the day because of rain, which is totally fine. However, they still charged me for the round and have been giving me the run-around for over 2 weeks. No refund, no apology, not even an offer for a comped round, or even discounted round. Terrible business, Woodland Hills right down the road is a much better track that is in way better condition.

This is the very first time I have visited this golf course. The golf course appears to be under construction. The greens were in excellent condition. The fairways were not bad. The tee boxes, well, that's a different story. I saw it on the Golfnow and thought that I would give it a try. A lot of hills made it challenging. The golf carts were old and I had to park with the wheels turn. The staff was very friendly.

Layout has a lot of character, brand new carts with modern GPS. Maintenance is lacking on the cart paths and playing areas

I played here for the first time the other day. The course was very nice. The carts are fitted with GPS, digital scorecards, music, and other features. Will definitely play here again in the future.

Played 4-1-23 Everyone is super nice. The course is maintained and needs a lot of work on the cart paths, which are very damaged. Hole 4 and 6 were my favorite. Quick round and close to Nac!

The grounds are in good condition. The greens are fast and as good as that which I see on The Golf channel. Rate is very reasonable. Good club house, clean restrooms and the staff are very friendly. Looking forward to my next round.

Nice track with East TX traits of elevation changes on every hole and uneven lies on almost every shot. Not much of a pro shop but service on the course and in the restaurant was really good.
