In summary

Pokegama Golf Course is frequently praised for its well-maintained fairways and greens, picturesque setting, and helpful staff. Many visitors enjoy the course layout and the amenities, including the on-site restaurant. However, some guests have experienced issues with customer service, particularly regarding management's handling of larger groups and tee time reservations, and a few have noted disruptions from the grounds crew during play.

I grew up in Grand Rapids and we recently bought a house on the lake and boated in to have a relaxing 9 holes but got hustled the whole time because of the way we parked our carts when we tee’d off. The members harassed us and complained to the superintendent. They kicked us off the course with no explanation. They made it sound like if you’re not a member there they don’t want you. Sad to see they don’t want new members. We know the members at eagles in Bovey and will be recommending everyone we know to golf there.

Wonderful course! Golfed all 18 holes and didn't regret it! Thanks for a great day! Finished it off with a meal from the Grill which had awesome food! Must stop for golfers in the area!

The course was very wet, and a lot of leaves on the ground, but we really enjoyed the layout.

Two weekends in a row I packed up my stuff, drove into town, arrived 40 minutes early.... then was told they had given my scheduled tee time to a walk on and I was out of luck. If your time means anything to you and you really want to golf I recommend booking at Sugarbrooke or Eagle Ridge though both are 20 minutes out of town.

Beautifully manicured golf course. Fairways are in great condition. Greens were immaculate, soft and receptive. Food was excellent.

The course was in great shape, but the course superintendent's are extremely rude and unprofessional. We had a group of 6 looking to golf together in a best ball scramble. When we we're wrapping up hole 3 the superintendent screamed at us and threatened to kick us off the course for golfing together. A polite explanation of why our group needed to separate would have been appropriate - no harm no foul, but the way he yelled and berated our group was completely uncalled for a very rude! Will never be back and I encourage anyone looking to have a good time on the golf course with friends, go els…

Course was in really nice condition! Tee boxes, fairways and greens were all above average and looked nice after a fresh mow. Only gave it 4 stars due to other area course are probably a little nicer overall. Limited range distance as well so couldn’t hit long clubs. Fun experience but will try other courses in the area before coming back as I’m not from the area.

This was a nice course. We had a great time with the starter and the rangers. Some of the fairways are really close so keep your head on a as swivel. We only played the front nine would love to see the back nine more along the lake. The patio after golf was nice. We had good service for a very large group.

Our group of 4 adults, with 5 kids in tow, knocked out 9 holes in an hour and forty-five minutes on a Saturday with a 1:40 tee time. Club house staff and the starter were pleasant. We came into contact with two rangers, one who was traveling along the course to attempt to find the owner of a lost clubhead cover while another was worries that the size of our group would slow down the groups behind us. The greens, tee boxes, and fairways were all in good condition. The riding carts were clean and smooth when it came to operation of them. The wind during our round helped to keep the mosquitoes aw…

Decent course but a bit on the expensive side for what you get. Food and drinks are expensive, $6 for a hotdog and $4 for a gatorade. Carts had to be back in by 8p so I wasn’t able to finish my round and no refund or discount was offered. I shouldn’t have to end my round 1 hour before the sun goes down to return a cart. Price reflects why it wasn’t busy on a Saturday afternoon.

The course is tight if one is erratic with the driver. I was hoping for something more of a up north feel but this is mostly a parkland course. Well kept despite it being a dry summer. I preferred Eagle Ridge in Colerein much better.
