Ponderosa Golf Course

No real complaints, pretty good 9 hole course at a good price. Came here for a cheaper option to celebrate my 40th. We all had a ton of fun. It can be challenging, some of the fairways are tight with houses on both sides. Check in was easy and quick. I almost got hit in the face by a ball on the 4th until I heard "Fore!". Carts performed well. It was a good time!

I spent a great couple of hours playing this nine hole course while traveling through the area. The weather was perfect, the course was in excellent shape and I met and played with three wonderful people. The greens were slow and a little bumpy, but I would absolutely return.

I recently celebrated my birthday weekend at this golf course with my wife, who is a beginner golfer. The course was in fantastic condition, and the staff were incredibly courteous, as were the other players we encountered. Unfortunately, I left my rangefinder on the golf cart, but thanks to Chase in the pro shop, it was located and promptly shipped to my house. The exceptional service from the staff truly impressed me. I would highly recommend this course not only for its quality but also for the wonderful people who work there. I am looking forward to playing here again in the future. -Jami…

Xc course made me question my life <3

Pleasant little course, but bunkers are essentially mud and most greens are in such poor shape the ball bounces because they are so rough. The greens keepers tend to yank the plugs out for the holes, so in addition to the rough greens you have to fight raised holes that reject the line of a smooth putt.

I mean come on. The hostility in the club house. Just a recipe for an unpleasant time. The marshall was great but WOW. Unreal. Would never speak to anyone how we were spoken to in that place. BLASPHEMY! 0/10

Great course. Inexpensive challenging but inviting. Amazing staff.

My friend Emily and I finished 9 holes at 8:35pm, started at 5:40pm. We has so much fun! We checked in and paid, they were great! I took my shoes off at the 4th holes per Emily... excellent suggestion! We are not good golfers as we played above par by an avg of 2 shots. We finished before dark and a wonderfully handsome breaded guy by himself in a white truck who finished behind us said hello which made our golfing experience perfect!

It has been a few years since golfing here and I must say the new owners have nicely improved the condition of the track, tees and greens. An enjoyable 9 with a variety of shot requirements. The offer a twilight special if you want to save a few bucks. Overall a great setting and convenient location for Truckee and Northstar.

Driven Ponderosa. Decided to give it a try. So glad we did. It's a nice, no frills 9 hole course. We played it twice. The rate was very reasonable compared to the many Truckee/Tahoe courses. Fairly flat and not difficult. A very relaxed round. We will play again soon.

Fairways are great, greens are pretty shaggy. Fun course+

Visiting Truckee, this course is a good 9 hole to play. Some fairways seem tight for drives but if you hit straight your in good for wedge shots. Greens are well taken cared of and fairway despite the bad winter weather that hampered some holes. Price is good, if you dont want to pay the 100 dollar plus courses.
