In summary

Puakea Golf Club is often praised for its beautiful course layout, stunning views, and friendly staff, providing a memorable golfing experience. The course is generally well-maintained, with particular appreciation for the greens and fairways, although some visitors have noted issues with bunker conditions and occasional slow pace of play. Amenities such as the driving range and on-site restaurant receive positive feedback, though there are comments about inconsistent enforcement of the dress code and pricing discrepancies between locals and tourists.

The course is really pretty, but my experience there was frustrating. I was wearing an athletic top (not a polo) and was told I had to wear a polo to play, which was fine since that’s the dress code. But I was required to buy a $70 polo from the pro shop just to be able to play, on top of already spending hundreds of dollars. Again no problem, but what bothers me is that every time I pass the course now, I see multiple people playing in T-shirts. It feels super inconsistent, like the dress code is only enforced for some people. Not sure how that makes sense. Because of that, I ended up playing…

The course layout itself is really beautiful and offers some great views that make for a pleasant round of golf. However, I felt like the maintenance could have been a bit better, as some of the greens were showing their age. It was still an enjoyable day out on the course, but I think there is room for improvement to really make it shine. Puakea Golf Course

This is a pretty nice golf course, I enjoyed playing here a lot. It's not an easy course, but with some course management and knowing your misses, you can get around just fine. There are houses that are just adjacent to the course, but the course is not super narrow. During my visit, the course was recently aerated, but that's alright, means the course is being maintained. The tee boxes are pretty nice with nice grass, especially the par 3's. The fairways are also nice with well maintained grass, really liked the the fairway grass. The rough is what it is, rough. The grass can get thick and…

Nice course with incredible views. A bit pricey for not being on the water but amazing hospitality.

A local golfer suggested that we play this course. We were glad we did. Nice layout and a solid track. The staff are exceptional! We paid a discounted rate because they just punched the greens. Some great scenic views along the way. We were a mid afternoon twosome and made our way around in 3.5 hours. Only negative was the bunkers which have been neglected (but if you don’t hit it in the bunker no problem!) Would definitely recommend.

Best fried noodles of all time. This place has the most amazing food. One food and great people. It would be a mortal sin to not eat there when I visit Kauai. That is top on my list of things to do.

Amazing, amazing, amazing course! The views surrounding the entire course were breathtaking and like no other I've ever played. The staff were friendly and helpful. Played early afternoon on a Thursday and basically had the whole front 9 to ourselves. Back 9 was a little slow due to a couple (twosome) who were obviously beginners... but that's no fault of the course. They also had just aerated the greens on the back 9, but we were made aware of that before and they discounted the price, which was stupid low to begin with. Best value on the entire Island! Only issue was the fact that there wer…

Very nice and well maintained course. Cart are newer and they have driving range to get warmed up. The course has wide fairways and a few difficult holes. The greens were in great shape. Nice views. We booked our tee time online it was easy and without a hassle. They do have club rentals available. Please hit “Like” if this was helpful. Thanks.

The price for locals is very reasonable, tourist pay about twice as much. The course was in great shape, greens included. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It's not a resort course but it's also not a municipal. I play every time I visit Kauai.

This review is more for Mike Z., one of the course golf pros. My wife and I are both learning the game, and we wanted some lessons before playing during our time on Kauai. We each signed up for a few hours of lessons with Mike spread over two days, and it was a great experience. Mike's knowledge, good communication skills, and calm demeanor were exactly in tune with our needs. I cannot recommend him highly enough for any golfer who is looking to get more out of their golf experience while enjoying this island paradise. Thank you. Mike!

Great overall course and value for what you pay. Located near the airport and great for a quick round as you arrive in Kauai or one last loop before you leave. Course was in fair/good condition and pace of play was great. Back nine was majestic!! Absolutely stunning views on every hole. They have a restaurant there too.
