In summary

Raleigh Golf Association receives praise for its friendly staff, affordability, and convenient location, with some visitors appreciating the ongoing renovations and unique course layout. However, there are frequent criticisms regarding the condition of the greens and tee boxes, as well as issues with pace of play. The course is seen as more suitable for beginners or those looking for a casual round rather than seasoned golfers seeking pristine conditions.

This was my first time playing RGA and I had a great time. They’re clearly making improvements to the courses and doing a good job. We did not play the stakeholders course, we stuck to the ‘older’ course. Tees get 3.5 stars, fairways get 4 stars, greens get 3 stars. 4 stars for the service and amenities. Staff were super friendly and helpful, food and drinks in the clubhouse were great, and upgraded carts are always a win!

Tee boxes are all essentially sand. Pace of play is horrible. 6 hour round. Unfortunately, at this price range they really seem to attract drunk idiots. To top that off, Casper the Ghost was our Marshal. Non existent. Fairways are non existent, basically anywhere outside the fairway is hard pan lies like clay. the greens are absolutely peppered. It’s a $20 course at most. The greens at knights play were better than these. I only have it at one star because the staff was extremely friendly. The owner needs to put some TLC and money into that course. I’m strictly playing Lochmere from now on.

I’m not sure I’d play here again if it was $10. The prices they charge for how horrendous the golf course is… robbery. If you choose to play here, it should be because every other place is booked up or because you’re just starting to golf. The only reason they can get away with charging what they do is the location. The greens are made up of about 10 different types of grass (per green) and roll at about a 5. Your round will take 5 hours if you’re lucky. Absolutely worst bang for your buck you can get in the Raleigh area if you’re a decent golfer. This is a good place for beginners to learn an…

Played the Stockholder 9 this evening with my wife (the future back 9). Sure the fairways are scruffy, but the renovated greens and bunkers are great. Really enjoyable subtleties to the green sites. Worth a visit.

It's a crowded and short course on good weather, but it played pretty well. Greens are pretty rough, unfortunately. The crowded part meant it took nearly 5 hours for 18 fairly short holes which was unfortunate. The service in the shop is great and friendly, and I can't knock the experience just for coming on an unusually busy day. It was mainly just the greens that needed work.

This is for the public course side. Not a bad course. Lots of elevation changes, some blind fairways and such. Greens are horribly slow, or fast. No one fixes their ball marks on the greens nor fill in divots. Tee boxes aren’t all that great but doable. Cart paths are pretty rough in most parts. Lots of bare ground throughout the course. I enjoyed it even though I wasn’t playing my best and this was my first time there. Golf carts were fairly clean and have the geofencing which keeps folks from certain areas.

What the waste of money we spent at this golf course! The greens were terrible/awful and quality was sucks. I believe the owners of this place just don’t care about their customers and believe me the bad reviews will be on the way if the action is not taken.

It is a pretty alright course with the holes being really close to eachother so if you hook or slice the ball you are playing from a fairway on another hole. They have no driving range either which is fine. They do however have a chipping and putting green. I would recommend going here if you are not trying not to spend to much on a round. You get what you pay for at RGA

I played here today and it was OK. Typical low-cost winter golf, and with that comes uneven greens, rough golf cart paths (teeth shattering in some instances) and mixed results in the fairway conditions. You also have to cross a four-lane freeway to get to the clubhouse from the 18th hole. The front nine is relatively easy and wide open, while the back nine is significantly tighter and more challenging. There are definitely some pretty holes here! I even caught some deer on hole number 11.

For $40 for 18 and a cart, this place is well worth the deal. Love the short part 4s and short par 5s. Course is in good condition overall but the patches of crab grass on the green can make putting challenging. Would love to come back one day

Wow, where to begin. Start by saying this has to be hands down the worst golf course in the triangle area. Most tee boxes did not have grass and what did was barely there. Then you have the fairways that were mostly weeds that led to just some tighter mown down areas that were called greens, which clearly the people who play out there don’t care about the greens as there were so many divots it was unbelievable. Definitely don’t get off the fairway as you will be searching for your ball forever because the grass is so weak and limp it just falls right to the bottom which then leads to again one…

Yikes, the starter was completely rude and greens were in rough shape. Sand however was actually really nice and the pro shop team was great! Not worth it for the cost but the layout is nice.
