In summary

Red Bank Plantation is appreciated for its friendly staff, reasonable pricing, and improvements in course conditions, particularly the fairways, greens, and tee boxes. The course layout is considered fun and suitable for both beginners and experienced players, with the front 9 often receiving more praise than the back 9. However, many visitors highlight issues such as a significant mosquito presence, inconsistent maintenance, outdated facilities, and occasional slow play.

We played this Navy course on 19 July 2025. I’ve played dozens of courses in multiple cities and states. Redbank is not a swanky country club. It’s not prestigious but, it’s a course that’s fun. Yes, the mosquitoes on the front 9 are in full attack mode. I stopped parking in the shade for fear of getting malaria, but that problem isn’t there on the back 9. The course is short, you have to hit the ball to the correct area and a few greens have the elephant skin problem, but the greens roll really well. Overall, it’s a course I will play again, taking extra DEET spray.

Bring bug spray! Those bugs are terrible. Front 9 was fun and I really enjoyed it. Back 9 had drivable par 4s even from the blue tees. Slow and I mean slowwwww players with no golf etiquette plague the course. Overall, it wasn't bad, 50 bucks for 18 and with a cart at 10am Sunday, I'd say it was a fair experience.

Course hasn't changed at all over the years. Not sure what maintenance gets done to the course. Worn out practice balls and driving range hitting area had no grass. Golf cart selection was a joke and out dated. Of the 8 left the seats were torn and ripped on both sides and the tires were deflated. Tee boxes were bad at most holes. Yardage markers were either non existent or hard to find. Price was extremely HIGH for a course in such bad shape. PS the Club Pro must be taking the funds to pay for his Corvette. LOL. Wouldn't recommend.

Fun course to play for super seniors. We do play gold tees for our ability. We play here when our course is being aerated. Enjoy the back side as it helps the ego. Greens have always been playable. No complaints except for golf carts - but have never been stranded. Saw today that some carts have been replaced. Looking forward to next outing.

Having been playing this course for over 20 years, 19 June 24, will be the last time I do so! Upon arriving at the proshop, to "Check-in", I noticed a sign, behind the receptionist stating: "For Military Discount have your ID ready". So, I presented my ID, and was told that: "Today is a holiday, there are no discounts!" $48.00 is overpriced for this "Military Base" short golf course, (especially for Retirees)! Not-to-mention, $21.00 for a 6-pack of a domestic beer (at the pro shop). Since the take-over of this Navy Base Golf Course, by the Air Force, it has lost more than it has gained. And wh…

Not a bad course for the Green Fees. New carts recently. Mosquitos can be horrendous- Lots of standing water and marshy areas. Alligators may greet you on a couple of Tee Boxes. The Bunkers are between decent and pathetic, and several hold water for days after a rain, as do some of the Fairways. The Snack Bar is CLOSED, and has been for a while. There are NO water coolers on the course, so plan accordingly.

Course staff was friendly and welcoming. Course conditions have improved greatly! With new greens and all new bunkers the course was very well conditioned. The fairways were also really nice. Front 9 is beautiful! A bit of a shorter course than most but a fun play for sure.

We love the navy base golf course dining room and staff. Please bring back breakfast and coffee etc. Currently burgers and premade sandwiches are available. Beautiful spot with forest and river, nice breeze, very peaceful.

Goat track. Pro shop is outdated and feels slimy inside due to age of building. Pot a potty on course bathrooms, real bad insect problem, worn cart paths, and a forgettable practice area. Holes 1-9 have promise, could be award winning if better maintained . Back 9 is straight trash. A bunch of short uninspiring holes especially holes 10-13. Price is outrageous what you get. Trust me take the ride and head to Berkeley Country club instead.

Course is in decent shape. They are redoing some of the tee boxes the greens are slow and the break isn't as big as you think. The front 9 are more difficult and longer than the back 9. The back has no par 5s. Nice course to walk.

Great golf course for a military installation. Kind and helpful staff and pretty well maintained. Good to learn on or fine tune the skills. Bring bug spray year round. A solid course to always keep in the rotation.

Staff is friendly Course is terrible. Fairways are either Sand and to soft or rock hard. The roll on the greens is terrible and inconsistent. Make sure you have bug spray or you'll be eaten alive. Don't trust tee time. Was given a tee time before they even open. There is poison oak everywhere.
