In summary

River Pointe Golf Club is appreciated for its scenic, nature-inspired setting and well-maintained greens, offering a challenging and enjoyable experience for golfers. However, many visitors have expressed concerns about the slow pace of play, disorganized management, and occasionally unhelpful or rude staff. While the course layout and natural surroundings are often praised, issues with booking procedures and customer service have been noted.

This was the worst experience I have ever had at any course in Houston. Today, my friends and I decided to play at this course which we booked and paid for. Once I arrived, my friends told me that we would start on the back nine due to the front nine being so crowded and a long wait to even tee off(me un aware they didn’t speak to the starter). Once we played through the back nine we went back to start at the front nine because we did pay for 18 holes. Once we got up front to start at the first hole, management had told me and my friends to get out of the cart and go into the club house becaus…

Will never waste my time to come to this course again. Pace of play and course conditions were horrible. It took almost an hour to get through the first 3 holes. At the turn I asked for a refund for the back 9 or a rain check and the employees “teenagers” were no help. No Starter or Marshall to be found and supposedly the manager was somewhere on the course playing a round. Very disorganized and ran by kids. Waste of my hour drive to the course and almost 3 hour front 9 to play. If I could leave negative stats I would

Nice course, fun to play. Very dirty, trash everywhere, every employee I encountered was either indifferent or straight up rude. They will pack you in and not warm you that the course is jammed. On a busy day you’ll be lucky to finish 9 holes in less than 3 hours. I made a comment that the course was too busy to be playable in a reasonable time and the staff member replied “good for us, bad for you.” Play at your own risk.

This is my second time playing here and did not have a good experience. The club house could not locate our tee time on their paper registration, could be do to misspelling issues. Before we tee'd off the starter let us know that we could not bring our backpack which contained water but then followed us to the car to make sure we complied. The same starter also played after us and told us we were playing slow on the 17th hole even though we were keeping up with the foursome in front of us. I believe the starter's name was Caleb. I will not be going back.

Golf course was in good shape. The rain helped with the grass. The practice green was a bit bumpy but the regular greens were nice. Loved seeing the wildlife and usually the alligators. Looking forward to go back again!

If my daughter didn't have a tournament at this course, we'd never go back. The staff is always incompetent and that's if you can find them. You can only book a tee time by phone so we did a week in advance for a practice round. Apparently no one wrote our name in the Trapper Keeper they use for booking. "Well there's not much I can do for you at this point" Sadly this is what we've come to expect after the several tournaments our daughter has played. Course conditions are unpredictable like the staff. Looking forward to the days I have no reason to be at this course anymore

Great course for the price but expect to play a long round, every time I have played here there is a pretty big backup at some point especially in the afternoon rounds. Besides that only complaint is the people that golf here need to learn to repair their pitch marks and fill their divots. I do suggest golfing here and I will be back.

First time playing there Thanksgiving I enjoyed the course the tea boxes wasn’t rock hard. The greens and fairways was in good shape. I like the layout. I liked the nature of it. It wasn’t a lot of houses nearby. There’s more nature water more of a forced field, which I like cause it’s more peaceful Besides the people being a little rude at the clubhouse. But that’s typical golf courses for you. I don’t understand why every clubhouse employee has to be rude. I guess when I own a golf course, I would understand

Came on Christmas eve and took a later tee time so my son (new golfer) would not be rushed.by the next 4-some. After the 1st, 3rd, and 5th holes the starter told us to hurry up even though we were waiting for folks ahead of us. On the sixth hole my son had to move his ball because a sprinkler was raining on it in the rough. On the 7th hole we were interrupted by the ground keeper driving onto the green to cut and water it. Our balls were covered in wet grass clippings after putting. We skipped the 9th green because there was standing water from the sprinkler raining down on it. After the 9th h…

Surprisingly challenging and scenic course in my backyard. Don't expect a nice pro shop and amenities. This is country course with a good value for golfers. Fairways were dry due to to drought conditions this summer, but the greens and tee boxes were very well maintained with watering by the maintenance crew. Recommend grabbing a delicious burger or steak at the Flying Cow restaurant nearby!

For a beautiful, nature-inspired golf course in Sugar Land, Texas, Sugar Creek Country Club is an excellent choice. Surrounded by mature trees, lakes, and scenic views, the course is well-maintained and offers a challenging yet enjoyable experience for golfers of all skill levels. Its tranquil, natural setting enhances the overall experience.

Played it for the first time today in the summer. They scheduled me to start off the back because there was a tournament on the front, which was nice of them. Club house is nice and decorated, polite front desk staff. Course is in great shape. The 9’s are completely different with the front being more contemporary with a lot of water and the back being very secluded and full of nature. No neighborhoods, just birds and frogs. Greens were near perfect. Only thing I’d change is that you have to call for a tee time. Pace was decent. Management is fine, they just care about their course. Just don’t…
