What People Say

In summary

Rivers Edge Golf Club is frequently praised for its well-maintained course, immaculate greens, and overall excellent condition, making it a challenging yet enjoyable experience for golfers. The layout offers variety with its mix of undulating and tiered greens, contributing to its reputation as a hidden gem. However, some visitors have experienced issues with the staff's demeanor, noting instances of rudeness and strict enforcement of pace of play, which have affected their overall experience.

Nice course but the people that work there are beyond rude. We had 8 people (2 groups of 4) and they would not stop hounding us about moving faster (it took us about 2 hours 20 minutes per 9 holes”. Sure it wasn’t fast paced but for groups of 4 that isn’t bad timing. We had a newer golfer and a guy recovering from cancer treatment. Even if we didn’t have that it’s still not a terrible time for groups of 4. We spent $660 to golf there and were treated like we were a giant inconvenience.

The course is in decent shape. In several par 5s, you can’t hit a driver. The course is overpriced for the area—nice pro shop. The pro shop employee should be nicer to customers. This would be toward the bottom of the list of golf course experiences.

Just golfed here 7/17/24 The course was in awesome shape. I definitely wasn’t ready for them greens. Didn’t experience any rude employees as others have commented about. Everyone seemed very friendly and welcoming. Would recommend

Tee to green excellent shape. Top dollar for rural course. I just don't like the layout. 5-6 dog legs. 3-4 of those not hitting driver on tee.

Unique golf course with lots of variety. Especially front nine to back nine. Greens very undulating on front and more tiered on the back. Condition is as good as it gets statewide. Tees and fairways immaculate. Greens very true. Played 7/6/24

Beautiful course. One of the best kept course I have played, staff however holds a standard of 4 hours or less for a foursome. So, unless you play speed golf be ready to be asked to speed up your pace of play.

Course was beautiful. No doubt one of the most manicured golf courses I’ve ever played. Greens were well taken care off. Tee boxes were superb. One member of the staff (tall, heavy set male, gray haired male) was quite possibly the rudest person I’ve met in a very long time. I’m not from here, but where I’m from (WV) you’re able to play until 15 minutes before dark. They wouldn’t let us play any more than nine holes. After we finished our nine holes (7:00 pm), I went up to the clubhouse to try and lobby for a few more holes because it doesn’t get dark until 9:20 and he met me at the door and…

Invited up to play an outing. Great course. Great shape. I have never interacted with a worse golf course manager. Jerry treated the guests like trash. Unappreciative of people traveling to play the course. Love playing great golf in northern Michigan, but you can find many courses with a similar experience with a much friendlier staff.

Course was in great condition, however, our round was ruined on hole 13 when we had a bizarre interaction with a very rude clubhouse worker. Context: We were a group of 6 (5-17 HDCP) playing in 2 groups of 3. We played our round in 3hr 30min. On hole 13 we were approached by an angry clubhouse worker accusing us of playing in a 6 some and needed to keep it moving. (two greens were near each other so I assume their gps looked like we were playing together when in reality the second was an entire hole ahead) He was very unnecessarily angry. I explained how we were way ahead of average pace and…

Great course!! Best course I've been able to play. Tee boxes, farways, and greens are all well manicured and maintained. Want a challenge, play the blacks, blues are challenging, I play the whites, but I'm old(er)

I had a going away party here. We had four guys and one rider (who also paid to be there) the guy in charge wouldn’t let us play together , we had to split up, he was rude up front and made it known that he would kick us out if he caught us together this all took place before we even paid to play. We played a slow 9 holes and had absolutely no one else behind us the entire time I will never come back to this course and I will let everyone I know not to come here.

Golf rate is average for the course. Make sure to use bug spray beforehand, mosquitos are heavy. Price of beer is absolutely insane. I get higher golf rates for higher quality course, but beer is beer. The crowd Here is unwelcoming and has no course manners.
